I have only been here a few days and already someone has emailed me from HubPages, telling me how their c*** throbs when they look at my photo. I was not aware that HubPages was a dating site or a place to look for flings. Yes, flirting will take place but to receive an email like this from someone I have never even talked to disgusts me. Is this reportable? Can I block them?
Why don't you just post the email address and we will all send him our best wishes?
I'd love to, but I only remember his screen name on here. Is it allowed to post screen names when speaking badly about someone on here? I know other forums I've been on ban people who do that.
Oh Purrrr-fect, yes please do plus do give his email address to HP's itself.
Report it as Spam on your email account
Welcome to Hubpages!
Enjoy and remember to pay attention to what is worthy .
you can block their email address and then forward the offending email to HubPages. that's what i do when i get stuff like that. oh, and ignore them.
I'm sorry your being harrassed, I would like to think its a rare event. Most hubbers are really cool and I'm with A Texan on this one, post the address.
What is his hubber name? Has he published any hubs?
This is the link to his profile on HubPages. It says he joined 3 years ago, but has not published any hubs. http://hubpages.com/profile/jmel
No wonder he has no fans. What a predator. Don't worry most of us here are not like that.
There is no record of any emails being sent from this account through HubPages. If you want to forward the email in question to team at hubpages dot com, I will take a look.
I would suggest you send a copy of the email to HubPages Staff and bring it to their attention.
I agree with Cags on this one send it to the hubteam and let them know about it. And maybe bring his name to our attention so we can steer clear of him
really sorry you are getting emails like that. totally disgusting and uncalled for
But hey welcome to hubpages nonetheless
A 3 year old sock puppet?
Maybe he just uses the account to harass people. Who knows? I know some people must have more than one account. I can't picture anyone having an account for 3 years with 0 hubs or followers. I mean, the very first day I joined, I couldn't wait to jump right in.
But yes, the email I received told me his hubber name was jmel.
I admit I may have a different way of handling things, its just the rebel in me, that and I'm clinically insane.
Maybe he was just complaining that he couldn't focus on writing hubs due to the pain in his pants???
Could be a cry for help
Oh! Puhleez! - Like a killer saying "catch me if you can"?
I don't mean to "dis" you, but it has been my experience that these guys like to spread their dirt in the shadows. Perhaps now that someone has outed him, he can get some help. I, for one, would be happy to help him off the Hub Pages site.
You naughty Greek One. Report the guy to the hub team and get on with enjoying the site. If we were all to gang up on him, RedElf is right, the loser would have something to complain about.
I think you will find that most of us are pretty decent, but definitely forward the email to Hub Pages staff. If you want to unmask him, that's fine, and well-deserved, but unless you're willing to post the whole email, they can just deny it, and come after you for defamation. Unfortunately that's how some perverts work - finding a way to make the victims look foolish when they come forward.
You can refuse all email, but if you don't want to do that, perhaps Hub Pages can just block his access - or just ban him. That would be even better.
Thanks for all the advice, everybody. I'm going to email HP about it. Unfortunately, I just wrote his screen name down. I didn't keep the email

I received a note from an editor on my last Hub, which I complied with to the best of my ability. However, when I tried to respond to the email, my message bounced back. This always happens. I always add the Team email address when responding anyway, but it would be nice to feel I can communicate...

Most of these 'communications' are unsolicited-like hair restoration ads!-though they claim I did subscribe. I've spent most of the day unsubscribing from all of them, and I have 3,604 to go. Needless to say, I'm exhausted and somewhat p*ssed. No time for writing!I understand...
