You Can't Tell Your Master What to Do

The One you Obey is The One You Serve

"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19

The Bible clearly tells us that we have power over the enemy. Some Believers take that scripture and run with it. We think that there is nothing else to it, but there are stipulations. Oh, there are no stipulations to our receiving the power, the power is freely given, without a doubt. The stipulations refer to our operating in the power.

If you want the power and authority God has given you to function at its highest efficiency, you have to walk in some kind of obedience to the Word. You don't have to be perfect, because you cannot be, but if you spend most of your time obeying Satan and not God, you will short circuit the power.

How can you lie and cheat and turn around and rebuke a lying spirit or cheating spirit in another persons life? If you back bite, encourage strife or undermine people, there is no way you can rebuke it from others.

Walk in the Light

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1John 1:5-7

The Word of God gives us guidelines to live by. No one is perfect and we all have issues, but the Word tells us to walk in the light of what we have. It tells us that as much as lies in us we are to live peaceably with all men. In other words, do the most with the knowledge that you have and strive to increase in spiritual knowledge.

When you know better, you should do better. Seek to enhance your personal relationship with the Lord. He will change you, He will cause you to look more like Him. Be encouraged, the more you fellowship with God and His Word, the more you will see the change in yourself and the more His power will work through you for yourself and for others.

The Point Is .....

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7

If you want the things of God to work on your behalf, you have to submit yourself to God. Take the time to learn of the Lord. When the pressure comes to get you to stop, press pass the pressure and continue to walk in the ways of the Lord.

We know that you will be tempted in all points. People will say stupid things to you just to get you to argue, situations will present themselves which will challenge you to respond in the old ways of your flesh.... Sometimes you will yield to the flesh and sometimes you will walk in the Spirit.

It is all a battle and it is all a process. Growth takes time. Changing behaviors takes time. When you make a mistake and go the old way, repent, forgive yourself and get right back out there. Work on it until you are walking more in the ways of God than in the ways of the flesh.

Study to Show Yourself Approved.....

There are many study methods that can be effective when studying the Bible. One of the ways to get the fullness of the Word of God comes through subject study. Find all of the scriptures that pertain to a particular subject. Write them down, search them out, pray about them and ask God for revelation about them.

Study about submission to God, study about the power of God; most importantly, study about the love of God. When you study, the Bible comes alive because it is a living book. When it comes alive in you it changes you and, when it changes you God becomes more personal to you.

It is easier to submit to someone who is personal to you than it is to someone who is not personal to you. Take what you know and apply it to your life. Over time, you will find that your confidence in God has increased and your desire to do the right thing has increased.

God is Love and Faith Works by Love

We declare that Jesus is our Lord, Savior and Master. It is our responsibility to allow Him to become complete in us. The more we obey Jesus, the more we can successfully speak to the negative situations in our lives and in the lives of others. Satan ceases to be our master and his control over our lives lessens and lessens.Conversely, the love of God and the power of God in our lives grows stronger and stronger.

Be encouraged and let God love you so that your destiny can be fulfilled in Him. And He can truly be your Master.

I've been preaching this sermon for quite some time. Thanks for the refresher. Sometimes, I do let my guard down and find myself obeying the devil but God is good. I do need to find myself more into His Word than I do becuase you are right, it is alive and it will change you. God bless.
