   Having my first born.
   I was young when I got pregnant and weighed my options. In the end I knew I was meant to be a mother, and everything happens for a reason.
   I have since had my eyes open to so many different things, above and beyond what you would normally think.
   No, it wasn't what I expected, motherhood is tough, way tougher than any other job, but still worth it .

      Great answer. Motherhood is never what you expect and always what you had hoped. I always say that the only preparation for parenthood is really just diapers and wipes...the rest you make up as you go.

   Very rarely do I make decisions with my gut as I find it entirely unreliable. But I did make one important decision with it and that was to take the current job that I have. It was one that I was apprehensive to take because it required a lot of things I wasn't comfortable with (namely, public service). But I knew I needed it for the higher pay and the time it would allow me to get personal projects done. Ultimately it was the right decision because it pulled me out of a few financial fires and gave me the time to complete my novel. However, I won't deny that it has been an awful experience that has fractured my soul.

      That's a powerful answer M.T. Although you say it was the right decision, do you feel that what you've gained was worth the loss?

      I want to say that it was worth the loss, but a lot of that depends on whether or not I can be successful as an author. If I can't make a living with the work I've done, it will be harder to justify the choice.

   When I was about seven years old I was standing by a designated pedestrian crossing. It was raining and the driver of the approaching truck was waving me to cross. However, my gut feeling told me that the street was too slick for that heavy truck to stop. I was right because when the driver started to apply the brakes while approaching the crossing, its wheels began to lock. It eventually lost control and spun itself over the pedestrian crossing. I was safe still on the sidewalk. As soon as that truck stopped past the crossing facing the wrong direction, I began to cross the road.
   
   If I crossed that road when I was told I would not be alive to write this.

      That's truly amazing considering you were only seven. Perhaps you had a bit of a psychic moment as opposed to a gut feeling - maybe even an angel looking out for you. Nevertheless, wise decision and glad you're here.

   I have moved to another continent leaving my family, my stable job and my ordinary life behind...because I strongly felt that it is the right thing to do, my children have been all under five and I had no idea how I survive in a foreign country with my basic langauge skills, but I did and my grown up son decided to follow my footsteps and moved to another continent to try it out too....

   This is a great question, so straight forward, but caught me off guard.
   Going to college at San Francisco State must be it. I based applying in a last minute call from a great friend, and ended up going off the feeling that Bakersfield would be the death of me, ha. Coming to this city led to the most influential time of my life so far.
