What steps do you take to have a successful day?

The Bible encourages us to rejoice and be glad in each day that God has made (Psalm 118:24). In the midst of the challenges of life, how can we make the most of each day?

I try to keep an open mind about the things I see and hear during the day. I also try to remember that the people I interact with all have their own priorities and points of view, so I try not to take anything too personally.

I try to notice little things like the shapes of clouds, the way birds flit around, or the way light reflects off of different surfaces. I always spend at least 10-15 minutes reading a book.

Before going to sleep, I sometimes think through the day and remember the things that went right. Those always outnumber the things that didn't, but it's easy to forget that.

Thanks for your response Ron. I like the idea of thinking on the good things that happen during the day before going to sleep

As I have mentioned in my hud "A to Z of a Happy, Healthy and a Successful Life", the best way to make most of the day is by showing gratitude from the start of your day till the end. Bring gratitude on your face, in your words, in your writings, in your acts, overall, live a life full of gratitude everyday and witness how beautiful your days turn out to be.

I realize that this is a day I will never be able to live again and try to make it count.

    Wonderful question, Yvette!

Yes, life is what it is ...always changing and we do not know what the future holds, but we can have no apprehension about the future and I have come to realize that this present day may be all we have as not one is guaranteed a tomorrow.  Once I really got this truth in my brain, I look at each day a bit differently.

What works for me to have a successful day (and we all have different opinions of what "success" is) is to praise God first thing in the morning and give Him thanks for another day of life and all His many blessings.  I do this before I even take one step out of bed.  Then it is most helpful to take time out to meditate on His Word and then be on my way.  The day is always much better when my mind is set on truth, His truth.

I have no fear of man and what he can do to me, for with God on my side, what can man do to me?  I used to get so wound up about things going on at work, but now that I place my full faith and trust in Him and claim His promises and believe His promises, I have so much peace in this life.

I think looking at all of our many blessings, and there are many, no matter who you are, in lieu of looking at the have nots, one's attitude is immediately changed.

Thank you for the great question!

Thanks for your response Faith Reaper. I too find that placing my trust in God really helps me to have a successful day (I am much more peaceful).
