    Buddhism theory talk lots about psychology, so is It currently recognized by western medicine?

    I am writing an article for the travel magazine, today and is writing an article about a Buddhism temple, right now. Curiously, Buddhism actually have lots of study in psychology. The temple also offer a foundation course in the Buddhism study in psychology. I have came across Buddhist monks talking about some psychology from a Buddhist view, on youtube, much in coalition with western psychology I've know about. I'm curious, how much research in psychology Buddhism have and is it currently been recognized by western field of psychology? And do this mean, Buddhist monks are also psychologist?

    Buddhism is a religion.  As any religions it has dogmas.  Over the centuries these dogmas have been perfected, thus they have many things in common with western psychology.  Psychology is an academic pursuit.  It is very separate from medicine.  Psychologists usually don't have medical doctor degree.

      I did a google search Princeton University psychology student now must study "Buddhism and Modern psychology" https://www.coursera.org/learn/science-of-meditation Australia Psychological Society also apply Buddhist philosophy these days
