Christians especially, is life and death in the power of the tongue?

Today, many believe that you get what you say; and you need not be a Christian to benefit.Think of the many methods that invite you to use your beain power- thoughts- to create your desires.Considering this, if someone is always calling down maledictions with strong expletes without regards for you or the people in a locale, how can it be counteracted? Is prayers -calling on Jesus-  sufficient? This person is willing to enlist any force to bring about destruction and desolation. The person said since God did not provide answers, other forces will. What is your response?

With God all things are possible. He is the one who made the heavens and the earth. So if you truely believe that God made the heavens and the earth.Don't you think that it will be very wise for you to call on Him when you need assistance? How do you call on Him?it is simply by using your mouth...So if there is dealth in any aspect of your life, what do you do?you use your mouth to call life into your area of challenge.

Prayer to God is the best way for ther is no evil that God cannot handle, and there is no evil spirit who can go against Christ Jesus.

"And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and it setteth on fire the couse of nature; and it is set on fire of hell." (James 3:6)
The tongue is capable of great hurt and great healing. In the words a person says is leadership to lead persons in the direction of God or in the direction of distruction. In the words we speak our heart is exposed. "from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." No man who has the Spirit can call God accursed with his tongue. Thus God is greater. The tongue has great power. Now this is how it has been from the beginning. With his "tongue" the serpent said. "Is it true that God hath said..." Thus sin entered the garden. Was it in Adam's power to be faithful. I have to believe yes. Satan has used tongues to work his destruction from the beginning of time. But God is faithful and greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. In Elijah's time the worshippers of Baal tried to call down fire from the hand of their god. But God bested them by one prayer of a man of God. In Moses' time the magicians and sorcerers made snakes out of their staffs. But the staff of the Lord ate them up. Satan's minions will do what they will but our God is greater. God's will Will Be done. We are children of the King of kings. Remember who is in charge of the universe. And remember how much power is in the prayer of the saints.

This is the way I see this situation
As Christians, we are spiritual beings and we must treat most situation as spiritual.

    The Bible does say that:
The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
2 Corinthians 10:1-6 (The Message (MSG))

When you become a Christian, you must behave Christ like because everything in you has been made new. Christ never said anything He never meant, His yea was his yea, and his nay was his nay just as we Christians are encouraged to do so as well.
Our tongue is very powerful but there is more to it once you become a Christian as well. We must be aware of what we say about ourselves because most things we say and do are sanctioned in heaven. We must understand that everything in this world is controlled by heaven and our lives is not excluded.

If somebody pronounces evil against you based on the assumption that if God does not answer, other forces will answer, then there are at least two things, I will suggest to counteract the negative pronouncements.
The Bible says that those who know their God shall do exploits, If you know your God whom you serve, If you follow your God in all righteousness and you strongly put your faith and hope in Him, then by all means, run back to Him and present your case before Him, He is bound to answer back the enemy from heaven. He did it so many times in the Bible - Hezekiah was plagued by the king of Assyria, he cried out to God and He answered him.
Secondly, I would say, reject it straight away. Tell the person,  I reject your evil pronouncements, the bible say that there is no divination against Jacob, neither is there any enchantment against Israel. As a child of God, you share in the blessings of Abraham and whosoever bless you will be blessed, whosoever curse you will be cursed. Confess the word of God over your life and leave the battle to God to fight for you.

I don't want to say too much but I hope this helps.
