    Wow, Emile, strange moment reading back through the thread. A flash of another hubber, went by the name Deborah Sexton. Would passive-aggressive attack, claim authority over threads, then claim everyone was "not right", unless they agreed or "lined up" with her text; inviting them come back to her, as if to say they could not resist her acute wisdom yet never be completely forthcoming. She would post threads just to incite {supposedly insight} the mob, when all she truly wanted was attention. I distinctly recall almost the same conversation about friendship and truth -where I declined both {but she claimed she declined me, when I had never offered friendship in the first place.}

Not sure if I made mention to our "beloved" OP earlier, about pretending to be a sheep, with the intention of wolf. About predestined authoritarianism based on several fragmented scribbles of text and a 2000 year time line...

Anyway, still good to see you extend a real olive branch.
    James

Not Deborah, Genaea. Everyone said that I was attacking and using my ego. Where?

It always seems to be a matter of ego when discussing beliefs..hmm

Sorry I missed this comment. Ego was the word used most by my opposers. Reflection??? Sure thing. The term has everything to do with "self". I know when I mentioned self, it was in relation to what I believe. Not so with everyone else. It is sad that we can't talk to find a solution. I won't give up though. We deserve a peaceful world where we all can just get along. Why not?

I believe you missed a word there, coming before 'where'. It is called 'every'.

Now that you mention it, I do see the similarities.

My olive branch got chewed up and spit out pretty fast, but thanks for noticing. smile

I recall Deborah very well - the ultimate right wing christian flag bearer.  She ran in a tag team with two (or more) others in a campaign to get all opposition banned from HP.

If not mistaken, was perma-banned herself for proliferating and/or proselyting?

I think it was more for her rampant personal attacks in respect of homosexuality, gay marriage, knowing one brand of morals for absolutely certain.  Maybe consigning everyone else to hell might have played a part.  I almost enjoyed her contributions, she was a perfect illustration of christianity.

Huh??? We didn't speak on those subjects at all! Did you hear that yourself? No one else could come up with anything and you make-up something?? Not fair.

You are looking at this thread in threaded view - you need to go to the top of the page and on teh right you will find two choices - threaded and chronolgical - if you click on chronological you will be able to see who is talking to whom.  Most of the time in this thread you are arguing with people who have replied to someone else and are not talking to you.

Awwww, I didn't realize that I was banned from parts of the conversation available for all to see, especially those that regard me. Sorry, but I have certain liberties, as we all do. I like this version of the thread.

As you are clearly unable to understand the simplest of messages it is clear how you do not understand the more complex messages of the bible, true or fralse as they may be.

Nobody, least of all me, would remove anybody's liberties, not even the liberty to make a fool of yourself.

If you prefer to have non-existent conversations with people who are not talking to you then this is totally in line with your beliefs and to be expected I guess.

My post was an attempt to help you in the practical business of chatting online.

I thought she was the Jewish convert who claimed she had secret mystical knowledge.  Were there two religious fanatics with the same name?

wrong Deborah I think - or I am mistaken - either way the Jewish convert was interesting and presented ueful arguments, the other was just a right wing christian.

I think everyone contributes useful information; including the fanatics who  attempt to d*mn the rest of us to eternal suffering. Even if that information is simply to highlight their prejudices and misconceptions.

The conversations help others if they want to clearly see the downfalls of religious fanaticism. And, I guess it gives the fanatics an opportunity to high five one another. That type of mentality is dying in the West, so they probably feel somewhat ostracized in their daily walk through life.

All in all, I would think internet forums are a win-win endeavor.
