Is the word 'rapture' literally mentioned in the Bible?
The English definiton for the word 'rapture' is bliss, delight, or thrills and has not even gone closer to the defintions that some of your discussions implied.
No, nor is it mentioned metaphorically either. It's a mainstream Christian fairy story; a fabrication, like everything else they teach and preach. All except, of course, for their nightmare story of the equally mythological eternal fiery punishment and torment!!
Thanks. Your answer enlightens me. It is a kind of fairy tale propagated by the fundamentalists. Instead of drawing people to Jesus, they scare the hell out of them and chase them away from him with this teaching of 'raputre.'
