Is God an out dated and obsolete concept?

    Is God an out dated and obsolete concept?

    Do we really need the devine any more or are we just useing it as an excuse to stunt out own growth? Is there any need of God regardless of weather or not he/she/it actually exists?
    I will not state my opinion in the sprit of remaining objective.

    There's no way to objectively answer this question. A person's answer depends entirely on whether or not they believe in God.

    I don't think God is an outdated concept. The question is right in that whether or not God exists is immaterial, but people still have use for it. God is like a psychologist to some, to others God is a true friend. Many persons still hold on to God; for them, that represents hope (afterlife) and a symbol of love. People will always have social/emotional needs and their belief in God is helpful in that regard, especially in turbulent times.
