Why Do The Living Bury Their Dead When Jesus Want The Dead To Bury Their Dead?
Mat 8:22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
Nice question, when Jesus said let the Dead bury the Dead, he was talking about Spiritually dead people, in plain meaning "If you don't believe Jesus Christ is God then you are dead spiritually also the religion you follow, as none of them can cause you to be "Born Again"
To be Spiritually alive is by Christ living in you called the Holy Spirit or Spirit Of God. Without the Spirit of God you are dead.
Funerals are really for the living. The dead are no longer with us. The funeral is to comfort the surviving relatives and friends.
Matthew 8:22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
Luke 9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
Jesus wants to be more important than anything to everyone. People seem to have all sorts of excuses as to why they cannot accept the calling of God at that particular time. They put it off.
Jesus states here, Now is the call of appointment and you must not miss it for any reason.
This is one aspect of many concerning this deep saying of jesus.
