What are the basics of Buddhism? What are the words used for meditation?
It depends on what form of Buddhism you are following. In Soka Gakkai the words used are nam myoho renge kyo. It promotes peace, education, cooperation, and the development of the human spirit. It does not preclude any other religion and does not involve worship. There are others but that is the only form I know anything about
The basics of Buddhism is right living, just like the basics of Christianity is 'compassion'.
In different traditions the words used in meditation are different. While Sanskrit is often used, local languages also often supply the words.
