No buddy...theres possibly no way that these two guys are the same person. From historical perspective, Muhammad & Jesus both are considered historical figures in most fields. Although there are some theories which doubt the existence of Jesus, theres no doubt that these two men had a time gap of at least 500 years. Muhammad came almost 500 years later than Jesus. Muhammad spoke arabic, lived in arabia & started a religion which can be termed as an off spring  of Christianity with significant difference in the teachings.

Except the fact that both men had beards & mustaches I cant find any similarities among them.

Not the same.  Mohammad came later.  But both were delusional but charismatic characters (assuming Jesus was actually real) who managed to get cults comprised of more delusional characters established.  Keep in mind that when a cult becomes more accepted, the terminology is upgraded to "religion".

No, he was not.Let us not take things out of context by not giving credit where credit is due.Surely you must have a better thought than that.I pray for your sincerity.

Islam isn't an offshoot of Christianity. Christianity is a Protestant Reformation version derived from Christendom--another name for Catholicism. Islam is something almost independent of Catholic influences. Those that believe the two are the same don't understand either religion.
Christians hold the Bible as the only religious textual authority; Muslims hold the Quran as such. Both think the others' holy text is flawed. Christians revere Jesus as God; Muslims do not. Christians call their God YHWH meaning "ever-existing" "eternal one" or "to be (forever)"; Muslims call their God Allah meaning "the God" (God basically means "supreme being"). The names aren't the same (regardless if descriptions of the being as similar).  The Bible is 2/3rds of prophecy, the Quran is 1/6ths of prophecy. Revelation claims no other revelatory text will come from God. Muslims claim the Quran is a revelatory text from God.
Islam isn't an offshoot of Christianity. Mormonism is. Jehovah's Witnesses are. Not Islam.
