"For 5 billion human beings you need 5 billion different religions." - Dali Lama
Do you agree?
What happened to the other 2 billion people? (Must be a quote abut ten years old.)
Anyway, I disagree. We don't need ANY religions. Religions are stupid, for stupid people, and evil.
It shall all come out in the wash.We each are guity, and have somewhat to repent from.God can only be found in one place and thet is througgh our Lord Jesus Christ. All else is sanking sand.
The assumption in the statement is that a religion must be perfectly suited to the person. If this is true, then religion is not a matter of fact, but rather a personal philosophy. Yes, each person must develop their own personal philosophy of life, but religion is about worshiping something or someone greater than ourselves. If the one we are worshiping is greater than ourselves, then we can't expect it, him, or her, to adapt to our personal preferences. It is a matter of how that God wants to be worshiped. It is about his nature, not ours.
This statement would be true if religion were of human origin. Each person would design their own to suit themselves. But if there is a God, then it is not up to us to change it to suit ourselves.

Why do people of different religions constantly argue which is the the "true" religion? It seems like a never ending cycle. It seems like a war of words. I became caught in it at one time myself. I don't know that anyone will ever win it?

Why is there not one god with one message for all mankind? Why should there be vast differences between religions where doctrines and dogma conflict and contradict if there is one god?
