I don't pretend to know what they are, although I have my beliefs, but I think that with more and more publicity, more people are aware of the phenomenon than ever before.
So, more people looking upwards leads to an increase in sightings, videos and accounts, both good in quality and bad.
Although I have to say that with better technology, the video evidence is certainly getting better, and maybe one day we will find out exactly what these interesting spectacles really are, be it visitors or top secret military projects. (I hope it's benevolent visitors!)
I think you pretty much summed it up Zakmoonbeam. Probably an increased awareness is the reason for more sightings. Now just need to find out what all those things in the sky are!
I think it is because "The Fourth Kind" came out haha, just saying...
Because our media deluded culture is psychotic by design, and perhaps, the end is nigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahah!
I lived on the Kenai Peninsula in AK, in a small fishing village for some time. I went outside because I heard a noise then the largest "roar" ever! It echoed for miles and miles! then I saw what looked like the end of what looked like fighter jet exhausts coming out of the trees with a slight rumble. From where it started, it wasn't a jet, not a "harrier?" you know those jets that lift off from the ground and fly off. This was different, but I'm not sure what I saw and at the angle it had to 'take off', I don't think there's any jet on this planet that could've achieved that climb and at that velocity. weird stuff for sure. I think there has to be "secret" government stuff going on. It's fairly common knowledge the CIA has "secret" training camps along the Inside Passage, and now we hear from mountain folks who hike into remote locations to find highly protected areas; just like "area 51" in Nevada all the way up on Alaska.
Sightings are on the increase because there is more UFO activity - there are more in the sky to be seen.
It is also more acceptable for people to admit that they have seen something - now that we have airline pilots, Belgian airforce pilots and astronauts coming clean on what they've seen - ordinary folk no longer feel that they will be ridiculed when they say they have seen a flying saucer, triangle or (as in the case of a Korean Airlines flight crew) a walnut shaped craft twice the size of an aircraft carrier.
ps Pleasure Venues - that 's got to be the least convincing image of an alien (we are talking extra-terrestrial intelligence here) that I have ever seen.
I believe that UFOs are always there, and that the fact that now we are better equipped with image capturing devices (your mobile phone is able to take photo/video), and then the internet is a very good platform to spread the words, it just became increasingly common.
Hallucination is on rise - I guess! May be people want to see them and then they hallucinate about either being abducted or maybe talking or seeing one.
Strange I have never seen one, nor has any of my family, friends etc etc. They not there
We can’t say what they are, but there has been evidence in the past to suggest that we are not alone. From all over the world, check out my Blog http://hubpages.com/hub/God-is-All-ways-Blessing-Us I have two videos that you can see of proof and tell me what you think. It is ignorant to believe that GOD created us only in the whole universe. What make us so special?
The "reports" of sightings are on the increase because of better communications. Personally I doubt any of them are for real. Not because I don't think there are aliens but if an alien wanted us to see him he would make sure we did. If he did not want us to see him, then I doubt we would.
Because when everyone is looking upward it is easy to do things on the ground !!!! Everyone is looking at the sky so who is gonna bother what I am doing in the ground!!??
The media, and science fiction movies have increased the visibility of science fiction possibilities like UFOs and aliens. What people once would have thought was a shooting star now becomes a UFO!
Perhaps the question should be re-phrased to 'Why are reports of UFO sightings on the increase'. I don't mean to be pedantic, but, there is a big difference between UFO sightings, and reports of UFO sightings. I don't claim to know the answer to this but it is another line of thought/investigation to consider. Another point that is worthy of consideration is that UFOs (and angels) are a more accepted phenomenon in some countries than others. The US in particular has a great per capita percentage of believers than other countries. So, is the 'increase' a culturally specific phenomenon?
Camera phones... anyone who sees anything in the sky shoots a cell phone video and puts it online as a "UFO" sighting.
Because so many different hobbiests are putting lights on their gear. IE: Gliders, Balloons, Kites, etc... Plus there are New air craft designs, etc... These things look really cool at night blinking and flying. People aren't used to seeing them. It's not to say we aren't being visited though. How can we be the only living creatures in such a huge universe?
I personally don't think it's UFO's. I think it's people testing their equipment to harm Americans.
In the UK the last few years there have been lots of sightings. Most of them can be attributed to the growth in popularity of Chinese Sky Lanterns. Lots of the sightings in the local press were about orange lights in formations, moving erratically - exactly what mass launches of Sky Lanterns look like. Now that people know what the lights are, they've stopped reporting them as UFOs.
theres more ways to fake it and there are more dumb people out there that believe in that stuff its like if took a pick of a guy who looked like jesus i would be able to fool alot of people.
