are their still places in north america where dancing is concidered a sin by religious groups.

footloose comes to mind when i ask this. plus there seems to be quite a few religious extremists on here so i wonder what their thoughts are.

I don't know about places, but I know that there are certain religous groups that consider dancing a sin, and forbid it among it's members.

Speaking from my personal experiences.........and only those...

it is not dancing itself that is considered sinful, it is the style or suggestiveness of the particular dance.  Much of what is seen today would be discarded and shunned.

It would not do for someone to tell me, that  I could not be held in my hubby's arms and waltz across the floor with him !

Why Yes, there are such places, and those are the protestant churches that call themselves "Church Of Christ."

We have these groups of religious people here in the Nordic countries too.
