I answered a question about why there are so many religion questions on Hubpages lately and received
a whole bunch of minus points. I knew I would, that's fine. Yet, I would like to know why people disagree with this quote and hence my answer:
"New Struggles. - After Buddha was dead, his shadow was still shown for centuries in a cave - a tremendous, gruesome shadow. God is dead; but given the way of men, there may still be caves for thousands of years in which his shadow will be shown. -And we - we still have to vanquish his shadow, too." Aphorism #108, "The Gay Science"
I do appreciate explanations.
i hope i'm understanding your question. you are asking why people disagree with the quote, not why they gave you minus points because of it? My guess would be that there is a large percentage of people on hub pages who don't think God is dead so they of course wouldn't agree with or like the quote.
The quote was my answer to why there are so many religious questions on Hub-pages lately. The quote does indeed say that god is dead but that is not the full answer to why there are so many religious questions around.
The main part of the quote that answers that directly I think is "... given the way of men, there may still be caves for thousands of years in which his shadow will be show. - And we - we still have to vanquish his shadow, too."
That is why, I thought there are so many religious questions popping-up - because "we still have to vanquish his shadow too".
Maybe that explains things a little.
(I think Mrs./Ms. SheZoe answered my question best.)
Note: In this quote Nietzsche is thinking about the Christian god - that is important to know.
you got a bunch of minus points because most folks probubly just didnt "get it",.... and we mock what we do not understand.
make a good fist, chin up.
Oh sorry, well, i would advise that you think of other people first before you make references to their religion. It hurts sometimes to feel that one is talking bad about what he believed.
Yeah I did the same on a political question and got voted down a bunch of times. Actually it was a question I had asked, and then I thanked the people who answer it, and my reply was voted down like 5 times. lol. Watch out now though, when you acknowledge this fact everyone gets voted up, that is why I am answering this question. lol This is how they hide their insanity, they have to be quite now. lol
I have a feeling all of you will enjoy my hub !

I have noticed that most of the questions I get are from one article. Those questions are piling up. Most are very specific and can not be answered by reading the article. That being said, do too many questions attached to one article hurt that article? I feel like too many comments dragged an...

So, I understand that the question-answer section is to inspire hubs, BUT it feels a little disingenuous to use the information everyone provided, especially when that information would fit nicely in a list. I asked a question about recipes and received lots of great replies. How do I make a...
