How would you rather see the world and why?
Is the world more beautiful through the eyes of
A) An theist (be it Christianity, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu or otherwise)?
B) An Atheist?
I suppose theists see the beauty their god created for them through their pure brilliance.
To me (an atheist) I feel that the world and universe is even more amazing as every blade of grass, pebble and crash of a wave is here by chance. The real richness of our world is down to the wonder of evolution and is all the more amazing for the mere chance of its happening.
Agree, disagree or discuss.
I do feel like the beauty of our world is more extraordinary when a deity isn't involved. It's easy to forget how long the universe has been around, so it's not like all these pretty things just popped into existence a few hundred years ago. The things we see today are the products of billions of years worth of complex processes involving energy and matter. To think that Earth, and everything on it, is essentially start dust, it is that much more breathtaking to see what it became. Adding god into the mix just oversimplifies it.

Would you like to be present for the end of the world?I ask this in a secular fashion. Let us assume that an extinction level event were to be upon us (massive asteroid strike, polar shift, catastrophic solar flare, etc.) Would you rather it happen after you are dead, or would you like...

It's easy to deconvert to atheism because they are disappointed, hurt or because they have lost their faith due to God making sense. It's harder to suddenly make a rational atheists convert to Christianity, which is faith-based. How does it happen?
