Why have your followers misinterpreted your words for use in hate, rather than in love?

Maybe you could enlighten us with your wisdom? And, how is it hateful when someone warns you of impending doom? I would consider the ones who allow you to play in traffic without uttering a stern warning to be hateful or indifferent to your plight.

The warning of empending doom, sadly encourages the one who follows the warning to worship only out of fear of the impending doom instead of out of love for God.

If people are using the Bible for hate, they are not true followers...so I think you should re-word your question.

Who is using the Bible for "hate", Sarah?

I don't know Sword...the Almighty has warned many of impending doom and so has His Son, Yeshua, but I don't worship and adore them because of fear...but out of love, appreciation, gratitude and thankfulness.

CJ, the pending doom that has been warned in the past has sadly been misinterpreted. Its is the physical death of the vessel. But God never warned anyone of a pending Doom if they dont worship him as far as I know (Dan 3:1-6). It was about repenting.

SOM: I am at a loss. I know we've been around the block a few times and do not see eye to eye. I cannot see why the Almighty would want to waste His time warning people about physical death - it's a fact of life that is inescapable. What's the point?

Impending doom? I mean when one is approached with hatred in order to have ones ways changed to suit the person who has approached them. Eg "you wil rot in hell for who u are, come to us and you will be fine.' Why would I go somewhere that hates me?

Plenty of people have used the Bible for hate, which goes against the very message that Jesus teaches. The Catholics have done a lot of hating for 1, in the past the even persecuted Christians that read the bible, and then the crusades, etc etc

Jlpark: Your mantra is that a harbinger of impending doom is nothing more than a hatemonger. Again, who is more loving, the one who is indifferent to your condition or where you spend eternity, or the one who loves you enough to issue fair warning?

Even atheist Penn Jillette says he appreciates what Christians are trying to do when they want you to read the Bible, and it's not from hatred:

CJ if someone was to approach me in the way which Sarah talks about I would have no problem. It's the WBC and such I have an issue with. I have never said it was ALL Christians. Just hateful ones like westboro etc. don't take it personal - its not u!

The teachings of "turn or burn" in its own definition is pure hatred. A deity who creates such terms to His creation is to our standards not a deity of love, but a tyrant. As for death being a pending doom, you only need to read Matt 3:10.

The WBC is not a church, they should not be allowed to call themselves one, they are not preaching the message of Christ. God does not hate anyone, he hates sin. The Bible is clear that you are suppose to preach love, like Christ's example, not hate.

I bombard the Almighty each day with many questions, petitions, and prayers, so this is a tough one.

If...I could ask only one question - it would probably be "Heavenly Father and Son, how can I better show my love to Thee and serve Thee, not as I desire, but as Thou would have me?"

Another question that immediately comes to mind would be something on the order of asking my Heavenly Father and His glorious Son, Christ Yeshua, if They have a special purpose or mission for me to fulfill, before my allotted time expires.

The answer to that can already be found in the Bible in the book of Genesis. If Adam and Eve hadn't sinned, there would be no death.

In that case would there be any birth ?.....LOL......so no question of death either.........no pun intended to the great Bible though. Thanks

If I could only ask one question, I guess it would have to be: God, why did you create human beings? What inspired you?

    1. profile image0
CJ Sledgehammerposted 11 years agoin reply to this

I believe the Almighty wanted to create a "being" (in His own image) that had the ability to exercise free-will, either to his credit or to his demise. A being that could make the conscious decision to either love our Creator God or despise Him.

Why did you let us get it all wrong? How does it glorify your plan?

    1. profile image0
CJ Sledgehammerposted 11 years agoin reply to this

The Almighty gave us the FREEDOM to exercise our own free-will to whatever end. How can one be judged...if one cannot make any judgments? If one cannot exercise free-will, then one is without choice and cannot be held accountable for their actions.

After reading a lot of the answers and comments here, I would probably ask, " Why do people make something as simple as love and faith, so confusing and complicated?"

For me it was necessary to be comatose to finally listen and "hear" God; therefore, my question would be simply this, why not "evolve" mankind so we indeed have a greater ability to listen and "hear" your word? After all, we would maintain our free will and ultimately would preserve the choice to turn to You or not...
