Does the thought of billions of God's children being tormented in hell give Him pleasure?

If your answer is no, then can God be glorified by that which gives Him no pleasure?

No, it breaks his heart. Jesus weeps every time he loses someone to the devil and this world. I will make this brief, for I know it will probably get deleted.

You didnt answer the question. I wasnt talking about we believers. I was talking about God's lack of pleasure of hell. How does His sorrow glorify Him.

What an interesting question. Do you know the scripture where Christ is challenged on the issue of divorce. Your question reminds me of that, a human trap. The problem is that you put human attributes on God. God is not restrained by your logic. If He were He would not be God. Think of it this way. As we live our lives we put our own priorities on matters. If our priorities would inevitably lead to unhappiness and torment, that would be our hell after death. The only true choices that we have are those ones. I would think that that bums out God. We create our own hell, why we do that is a mystery. If God is Love then He must give us that choice as any father would. So sad for so many.

It is only the fearful determined hell wishers that see it as a trap, not the universalists or those with an open mind and heart. A real loving father would not cast his chrildren in a burning furnose for being bad.

You need to stop viewing God as human. "if this, then that" is totally inappropriate when speaking of a deity. If God is not omnipotent then He is not God. I think we all get your point in human logic, just do not transfer it to God.

It is not God that I am viewing, it is the stupid belief that God created hell that I argue. So if your son is a nonbeliever and he dies before you. Are you still content in worshiping this image of God you have made Him (Dan3:1-6).

Of course it is man that creates hell. Neither I nor my son will Know hell. We choose not to create it for ourselves. That is our choice. We do not believe God casts us there. We believe we are free to choose it. A hardened heart would be a bummer.

So much for Christ drawing all men to Him. No wait, so much for turning the other cheek. The word hell is not written in the original Greek or Hebrew scriptures. It was added in by the church.

@Sword, you say word "hell" given to us by church. That may be true, but the lake of fire is scripture and likely figurative, but very real. Ego is separateness from God and from each other. Ego is the door to hell.

Lonestar777, what does the Greek word Basanos and the Lake of Fire (LoF) have in common?

God can be glorified and He should be.

    But you misunderstand.

God did not decide for them to be tormented in hell; each individual did.

You decide by leading with ego. You decide by putting "self" before others. You decide this every time you act as if others are separate from you.

Mercy is what Glorifies God the most. But when a deity knowingly creates a man knowing fulwell his destiny as a eternal loser. He becomes a monster who is not capable of showing true mercy. Afterall. Christ desires mercy, does He not?
