God is said to be omnipotent, and also praised for curing cancers and healing numerous diseases. So why doesn't God heal amputees? Or cure any case of AIDS?

God knows what we need all the time. He didn't cure my husband's cancer, it was beyond my comprehension, too. But I know God has better plan for taking away my husband. I have this spiritual strength to walk with God here on earth and live in peace with my 2 daughters.

He comes to answer prayers when you least expect it. Just trust in God.

I think you bring up a good point. The problem with all the claimed miracle healings is that they are never totally unambiguous. We never hear of people miraculously regaining limbs - a healing that would be totally unambiguous.

Could you clarify on the "GOD" reference? Like in, What exactly are you talking about? I know of no god. I know of no higher power looking out over humanity.

What I do see is a lot of people misbehaving and not knowing any better, because they lack answers.

What I do see is a lot of other people, simply usurping power and wealth, at the hands of innocent, unknowing, lambs to the slaughter.

What I do see is a lot of people, following a false idol, just like they were told not to, by the single person who actually has creditability in the Bible, somewhat.

What I don't see is a lot of people with understanding of their life, nor do they have a clue that they are blanketed by a multi-layer format of control.

And, you know what? About 85% of the World's population is under control, of some sort, beit government or religion. So, when you DO find "GOD", please let me know. lol lol

And, if you think I lie about the Control factor- Why do you think 20% of the World's population CONTROLS 95% of the World's Wealth?

Thank you for your time. big_smile smile

When I speak of "God" in this context, I mean any of the numerous imaginary friends across the globe today. I am not a believer, and this question is meant to expose a valid point. God doesn't heal any diseases or perform any miracles that cant occur naturally. God answers prayers to help people get a job, but neglects innocent, starving, AIDS infected children? Why? Either you justify this uncomfortable thought by saying "God has a special plan for these children", or maybe...............maybe...........Hey wait!!! I got it!!!! Maybe God is Imaginary!!!!

I think it's a very bold move to claim that God has never cured a case of AIDS. How could you possibly know whether He has done that or not? It's not like he takes out ads on billboards when he cures someone.

I know people who currently have medical tests which say they have never been exposed to herpes, but for sure they remember having cold sores in their teens.

How many other people have had viruses purged from their systems without even knowing it has happened?

I think you are doing God an injustice.

Thank you for your opinion. And your right, I have no absolute proof that God has never cured a case of AIDS. But I am strongly assuming that if someone were ever cured of AIDS, it would be on the news, radio, internet, and everywhere else in between, that day. The point I'm making is this, if God loves us, and wants us to love and follow him, why cant he provide some kind of undeniable proof to us? If I saw a verified story of an amputee who's leg had regenerated after prayer, I (among many others) would be converted. I'm not asking that much from an omnipotent creator. Also, why is God so concerned with purging viruses like herpes, when millions upon millions of children die every year from simple things like starvation, or lack of proper medicine to cure simple diseases. These innocent children are crying out for food, and God is worrying about curing self inflicted herpes?

We are all to go through trials and tribulations. Once again, everything bad that happens to people should not be blamed on God. People hurting people not God hurting people.

It's bold to claim that he has. If he can cure AIDS in one, why not all? Why not just wipe it out?

The fact is, AIDS and many other diseases and illnesses are not caused by anything other than us. If there is a God, why should he step in and clean up his children's mess?

I've walked past men that have lost various body parts fighting for their country. They gave their all and now sit begging. I've worked with abused and neglected kids. The list goes on. Why stop at AIDS?

I'm not so much questioning whether or not there is a God so much as the selection of who does and does not receive a cure for 'whatever'.

Faith healers and TV evangelists appear to disfavour such physical ailments as missing fingers and eyes.

Really they should concentrate more in such areas, as it would win far more converts!

God does nothing on this earth except through his Sons.

Find one Son of God and he by the word of God will heal any disease.

    The truth is this though,
Those who protray themselves as sons are usually not, and most do not want to hear their message and will not even consider approaching them for healing anyway.
For there must be agreement for there to be any work of faith.

Finally Sons of God with such faith are very scarce.

Since I was diagnosed, many nonbeliever friends have asked me if it has changed my beliefs of God. Here is what I tell them.
God did not give me cancer, and I do not believe God delivers any diseases, impairments or injuries to His people. The Devil has far more to gain by these means, but God has allowed us to endure these things for reasons. Sometimes He does heal, but whether or not I should be healed, it doesn't effect my faith.
God can use all things to reach people's hearts. My husband's brother had cerebral palsy and died young. He was loved and cared for by his family at home, everyone who knew him was touched. Some were grateful for their healthy children, some witnessed joyful sacrifice to help another, yet others know in Heaven this young man was healed and made whole to run unhindered. We really don't appreciate a gift of health until we experience the reality of not having health.
Why did God allow my cancers? I do not know, nor does it negatively effect my faith. We are all born with a chance - not a given. Why has God not healed me? Again, I do not know and I am ok with that. The experiences have caused me to grow spiritually. I am sure it will make sense when He tells me at Heaven's gates.
      Just my opinion, Holly

I believe that I was born on this planet with but one absolute objective. That is to die. Between entry and exiting this life lies a multitude of possibilities
My circumstance depends upon my choices both conscious and subconscious and those choices of those that I choose to allow to enter into my life, and those that enter uninvited.
With such a complex mixture of possibilities it is impossible to ascertain a simple cause and effect theory for the things that we have to endure.

Therefore it would not be logical to not believe in something that we have no control over.
Therefore there has to be a higher power.
I choose to call this higher power my personal "GOD"

We can not even come close to finding any answers as to WHY  some people get sick and some do not.  WHY some illness is cured and others are not.
Everything is relative in regards to cause and effect.
There are many things that are too complex for our limited minds to comprehend such as ... WHY ... is it this way.

God is not selective in healing. He sends the rain on the just and on the unjust.Psalmist David in psalm 107 declares that God sent His Word to heal. That psalm stresses the fact that people are so ungrateful. O that men would praise the Lord for His wonderful  works and gracious goodness to mankind!

God does heal; but such stories would not make headlines because of skeptics and the fact that 'bad news' sell newspapers and get viewers. People prefer to hear the sordid details of affairs- infidelity in marriage, fornication, murder and robbery.

I - and countless others- have been healed from diseases. Some people are superficial and forget that man is a physical, spiritual, mental, emotional and social being. For example, some see the victims of war. What they are blind to is that war is 'man's inhumanity to man.'One summer I passed through Washington DC and saw individuals lying on cardboard and covering with newspaper. This happened in a park within view of the White House and other Government buildings!

I asked myself why Americans are so blind. They go to the aid of other nations and neglect their own citizens! Many diseases, when you trace them, are engineered by man - often in a lab.I could go on; but I will stop for now.
