We are not caused by others to lead inquiry we are lead by the Spirit.
I wish I could tell you that a life of inquiry leads to promise and understanding. But I must be true. This life leads to hell and we hope "back". But that is not the calling it is the misery of faith. Push and push and push the limits of our understanding and end up alone and beat.
Have you ever not backed down to those who hate inquiry?
I once told a friend that life is a short, mean, son of a bitch that wants to fight you everyday. You have no choice but to get in the ring and fight and you will, eventually, lose, but it is in the fighting that we are most alive and most revealed. Aren't we supposed to stand by our convictions, fight for them and in the fighting learn which are worthy of defending and which are not? Doesn't the fighting reveal our weakness and our strength? Don't we discover truth in battling all the way to the end?

I am afraid that most do not get in the ring. One look at my nose proves otherwise for me. Perhaps those outside fight harder inside. Happy happies to you and yours.

Christ told us that we can tell a tree by the fruit it bears. When we are walking the narrow path, we can even apply this wisdom to ourselves.
