In Christianity, foot washing represents subservience to another person, willingness to subjugate oneself. Jesus washed the feet of His disciples in order to show his willingness to serve them over himself and to put others first. He did this in order to set an example for his followers.

Otherwise, feet were washed during this time period because feet were dusty due to the type of shoes the people wore.

Yes, in this case a demonstration of humility, Brother Miracles.

    Probably nothing, Christa.

Actions of themselves have no power. I can say: "Thank you." Again, I can say: "Thank you!" with entirely different meanings.

Our Lord looks for the purity of our intentions; our sincerity of purpose, a clear and contrite heart. Otherwise heaven would be full of Sadduces and Pharises in princely robes!

What matters in action, is a live vibrant awareness of love, of the power of God.
