Whilst I can't answer yr question as I'm not a former atheist - I'm a current one....I did have a suggestion - perhaps this question would be better answered if posted in the Christianity forums as being 'former atheists' they aren't probably going to be hanging around on the Atheism question board.

I'm interested to see the answers tho

Didn't I already ask this question?  This is the third or fourth question that is a rip-off of one I already asked.  Stop copying me!

Do you really think that your the only one that asks these kind of questions?
Life and growth is a progression.  We all walk similar paths.
      (Make it positive.)
Take it as a compliment that others walk  where you have walked.

At one time as I was maturing, I went through a period of Athieism.

I was away from my family.  I had just started College and under the Authority, Peer Pressure. and the Repeitition of the message of Evolution, I became an Athiest.

I could see no God, or reason for one. Logic and Reason were without peer and the world seemed an ordered condition.

But things changed.  I studied Parapsychology, Psychology, and Metaphysics, and eventually Physics.  I began to see that there was a bigger picture behind the scenes. At one point it became clear that there was some kind of ordered reality behind all of Nature.

I became an Agnostic, believing in a higher ordering Intelligence, but not prepared to call it God.

As my studies progressed, personal experiences led me further to conclude that this Intelligence behind everything was personified.
It wasn't a nameless Intelligence but a personified being, but greater than anything I could previously conceive - I finally came to understand this Intelligence as God.

I just want to point out that logic and reason does NOT preclude the idea of God. The idea of a Greater Intelligence is compatible with reason. Also, evolution is compatible with the idea of God; just not a literal, Biblical creation story.

If you really study, Evolution has no true compatabliity with God the Creator of all things.
      - Checkout the entire research package in the work of Kent Hovind, and Dr. Carl Baugh.
      - Evolution is a Lie used by those who deny the existence of God.

I have studied, and Hovind and Baugh used a lot of pseudo-science and outdated arguments. I personally believe in a Creator of some sort, but the Biblical account is not consistent with evidence or reason, and therefore is highly suspect.

Evolution is the Psuedo Science. The belief that Time and Chance can create ??? Einstein  - the premier scientist stated - God doesn't Play Dice with the Universe.  in the future, you will see Evolutionists embrace Intelligent Design by Aliens.

You don't understand evolution. You're thinking of atheism. Evolution allows for a Creator. No one knows how the universe began. The evolution of living things IS AND HAS BEEN observed. That's why the vast majority of scientists agree on it.
