Perhaps His presence is not within the area of the church?

If I were so inclined, I would establish a consulting firm that would have the mission of showing churches how to increase their attendance and membership, and how to retain their followers.

One of the first things I would do is provide the pastor with strong guidance, largely in the areas of the ways in which he delivers his sermons and on what he sermonizes about.

Next, I would help the church to set up a well-organized and well-rehearsed choir accompanied by such musical instruments as guitars, saxophones and an electrical keyboard -- and a piano and organ, of course.

In addition, I would gather those members who are interested to set up potluck meals that would be served buffet style following the end of each of the main Sunday services.

Finally, I would help establish several small ministries that would travel to such places as homeless shelters, foster-care facilities and detention centers to preach The Word.

I am barely scratching the surface here; I could go on.

Church goers are lazy to find new members
Instead they are turning away from god
Unless we stand and unite together I don't think new members would come in
