Friday night to Saturday night is the Jewish Sabbath. For Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh Day Adventists, Protestant Christian groups, it is their Sabbath, too.
For most Christians, Sunday is the holy day.

Do you think it's okay to ask for Sundays off although you were hired under the assumption that you could work weekends? I was not born-again three years ago when I was hired at my current job but now I want Sundays off.
