Do you believe that your fate is in your hands or that it is predetermined and you cannot change it?
Is one in complete control of what happens in their life and they can control how their destiny plays out or is it already chosen ahead of time, predetermined and unchanging no matter how hard an individual tries? Many people love to argue over this topic and debate it and dissect every word and meaning to it, which side is more believable and reliable? Would it be better to be in complete control and choose what lies ahead, or sit back and watch as the movie of your life does its own work?
The Word of God says in Joshua 24:15 {paraphrasing} "...CHOOSE" this day whom you will serve..." Therefore, if we have a "choice," we choose our own fate!
We get to (choose) which path to take, (we) say "yes" or say "no".
Nevertheless for those who believe in an "all knowing God" they often confused (his knowing) with their destiny.
Just because you know what someone is going to do before they know it doesn't mean (they) didn't make the choice or it was somehow destiny. You didn't make the decision for them.
You just know them better than they know themselves!
Our lives are the end result of the choices and decisions we've made.
Nothing worthwhile happens until you say "yes" or "no".
Even if you choose not to make a decision that is a decision!
Everyone has innate personal goals and desires. In order to achieve them one has to (plan) and execute.
Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.
No one gets ahead by being a "passenger" in their own life.
The law of attraction does not replace the law of action!
Gen 1:28 God gave "man" DOMINION "...over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."
"WE" are a "living thing that moveth upon the earth!!!"
There are different discussions that can arrive from this question as pointed out by dashingscorpio. I accept I have free will always of choice. But, I realize it is always influenced by something. So, the question not only of choice being predetermined, but of circumstance and happenstance is predetermined. Which one we may ask determines fate . . . the choice or the influence.
You choose "influence" therefore both are "choices!"
I feel we are all authors of our own destiny, otherwise we would be mere puppets and predestination would make a mockery of free will as everything would already be mapped out for us. Apparently there is a big difference between predestination and fore ordination as the latter implies that certain people may be more suitable than others for specific callings or roles.
There would be little point to existence if we we were just carried along with the flow waiting for what fate decides for us and there would be no such thing as individuality.
"...fore ordination as the latter implies that certain people may be more suitable than others for specific callings or roles."
Amen! God "looks at the heart!!!" (I Sam 16:7)

Do you think our life here on earth is predetermined by us before we are even born? Some think we plot out a chart before we arrive here giving ourselves 6 exit points during our lifetime. If we do not take any of the exit points (near death experiences) when we get to the last one, our time...

Lord Brahma - The Creator!!!Hindus believe it is Lord Brahma(the creator) to write the destiny of every living being(just like pre-programing the robots) that he creates... So, I'm curious to know how it is in other religions.
