Can the source of all things, be, contained in anything or any one thing, or be a limited thing?

There is this concept that all men are gods. But I do not know anyone who actually believes that God is not omnipotent and omnipresent. Now there are those who think that God must act a certain way based on our actions on earth. That is amazingly naive because the teachings of the Bible are meant to restrain man and not God. Catholics like to explain it as the ordinary - meaning as a consequence of our action and extraordinary acknowledging God can do whatever God wants.

Now how that ties into your question is that in realizing God is omnipresent we know that God is in the church but not contained in whole therein. Many take the concept that is the most clear statement in the Bible "God is love" to mean wherever there is love there is God.But even that restrains an omnipresent God because God is present in you regardless of your love.

Here is the cool part. My home is a house of God. It is filled with children of God and God gave us the grace to have this home. And we are filled with love as an extra.

I answered this Christian centric because of your picture of a Christian church -- but it generally applies to all religions because of the reasonable definition of God applies to all.

"Concept?"  Ps 82:6; Jn 10:34 "Ye are gods" (little "g")!
"Restrain man?" If we are "like HIM" ("gods") r we "restrained?"
Jn 14:12 "Greater things than these shall ye do!"
GOD is NOT "in u" UNLESS u "BLV!"

Norine -- "GOD is NOT "in u" UNLESS u "BLV!"" then how is God omnipresent?

GOD is NOT "WORKING" in us UNLESS we "BELIEVE!" When HE breathed life into us & "a spirit" to reconcile unto HIM! Without "BELIEF" HE is NOT ("WORKING") in us!

HE "SEES" ALL! HE "fills the heavens & earth" (Jer23:24) so OMNIPRESENT!

good job Norine you said it right this time -- God "working" in you after revealing Himself and you accepting that.

IF one doesn't BELIEVE, HE (our spirit for reconciliation to HIM) lies "dormant" waiting for BELIEF!
      NO BELIEF=NO WORKS from GOD!
UNBELIEF"spirit" within not of GOD (ICor10:21) no matter how "good"!

What foulmess out of your mind not soul. God lies dormant? What the heck is that concept? That is bizarre and indicators of something possessed.

GOD doesn't "WORK" (inactive) in the spirit of an UNBELIEVER (ICor10:21)!
Satan KNOWS "we worship in SPIRIT & in truth;" therefore, he's active in spirit of UNBELIEVER&APPEARS godly (good morals)!

Wow I Cor 10:21 Says absolutely no such thing. Now you have God dormant but Satan omnipresent. Has it occurred to you that people can not be a believer but still not possessed by Satan? A baby is possessed?

A "Believer" is 1 who OBEYS HIS COMMANDS &"hopes" via FAITH! Satan is spirit too!  Eph 2:1;13 Unbeliever "DEAD" (spirit)! Phil2:13 "GOD "WORKS" [in "Believers"] "not we ourselves" (Eph2:8-9)!
      Babies have no knowledge/understanding!

Eph 2:1;13 says absolutely no such thing. Certainly one can walk in the midst of the Prince of Air but nowhere does it say one does as a course.

If "We were DEAD in trespasses & sins" (Eph2:1) body still lives but "spirit" [of GOD] "DEAD!" GOD "NOT WORKING" when Satan works(ICor10:21) r "dormant!" HE doesn't MAKE US "believe" on HIM (Josh24:15)! One may"appear" godly, but only "good morals

this is a thought provoking question, weasey ! based on his own words and thinking we can understand no human can contain him ! 2Chron 6;18 says no.
    Isaiah 66:1-2
example in crafts we make miniatures of houses and furniture  , we created the small scale ,but it does not accommodate our enormous size and weight, A scripture identifies our size to him Isaiah 40:22, says grasshoppers ! so no the temple of worship is a gathering of common faith for the reason to insight in love and truth in the name of our Heavenly Father. this is to set aside to give attention to him as of group of praise.
Not all churches are in compliance to the original purpose and practice of worship.
as it is written many will be declined based on the judgment written at Luke 13:24
many will seek to get in ,but will be able ,Jesus gives a story parable of how this happen,
the ending at 27 is very real he will say get away from me workers of unrighteousness
the point is its not  the walls , the building , its what in the building that will be judged.
yet that still is another thought people who do not worship or recognize his presence are not  exempt in this matter. example, Noah and his family of 7 built by the instruction's of the Heavenly Father an Ark or vessel to save human life .
how many did he build ? 1 Ark , and today there is a spiritual Ark of truth that will preserve life again soon .

You know I just remembered there were exact specifications given for places of worship and the alters and the ante room. Kind of fun to think about. Just like with the proper sacrifices and such.

Hi Norine, amazing theory of throwing out that which you do no like from the Bible and keeping only what you like. Good for you. I noticed you tried to be loving for couple of comments and it was awesome. What happened to that Norine?

Where under the NEW COVENANT does it say "GOD loves "sacrifices & rituals?"  I've shown you where HE doesn't; now show me where HE does?

I'm the same OLD NORINE; it's just that GOD is showing me to you in a different light; with Spiritual "eyes!

Norine you could be right. Maybe Jesus did not preach in the synagogues where they practiced sacrifices and rituals.

HE did preach there but "fulfilling the law!" Heb8:4 "For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law!" Heb10:6 "In burnt offerings & sacrifices for sin thou hast no pleasure

Why don't MOST "BELIEVE" WORD? You "proclaim" you LOVE GOD but don't "keep HIS commandments" (John 14:15)!

NO! "GOD CAN NOT BE CONTAINED IN A HOUSE!"  DON'T LIMIT GOD!

"GOD IS A SPIRIT" (John 4:23-24) who "fills the heaven and earth" (Jeremiah 23:24)!

Acts 17:24-25 says "GOD that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands (Sacrifices & rituals?), AS THOUGH HE NEEDED ANY THING, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things!"

Now where does your "Holy Eucharist" (aka "Communion") and "water baptism" fit in?  Don't you worship GOD with your "hands" when doing so?

    RELIGION "KILLS!"

READ II Chronicles 2:6; II Kings 8:27; Hebrews 8:2;5;9:11!

"READ" instead of "talking" so much!

Do you think Atheist's records are not being recorded by Christ?  HE SEES!  They will "stand before the judgment seat of Christ" as well but do you think they can profit fm HIS PROMISES? Can they heal the sick, raise the dead, etc? How w/UNBELIEF?

No vveasey, you already know this. An Omnipotent God cannot be bound by anything.

The Source of strength for devotees, lie in the gathering; the coming together. Frankly, this can happen in a Temple, Gurdwara, Buddhist stupor or a gathering in the woods.

Sometimes praying alone will give you solace, and again, sometimes, if inspiration is lacking, then the group helps. There is one more advantage which comes from buildings. Since they are more permanent structures, then regular worship creates a kind of vibration over the years and enhances the receptivity of the seekers.

Many go to Lourdes, Mecca, certain monasteries and other places for this reason.Perhaps it's better to say that Grace becomes more accessible.

We all visit neighbours. But have you noticed that when you walk into a house which is always spotlessly clean, you feel different straight away. You then probably want to be careful where you put your shoes, coat, etc. Spirituality is not that regimental, but I'm saying that the practice of devotees, can enhance the spirituality of the place.

But yes, you're right, generally it's the inner cry; the search for meaning of the seeker which is important, and not the place. Much Love.

Churches are regarded as a house of God where people of God or where group of believers come to worship God in spirit and truth..God is a spirit and it is a mystery to anybody who is not a born-again christian because there is no way for carnal man to understand things patterning to the spirit. No body has seen God and we cannot conclude whether is big or small in size.
