If it were proven 'beyond a shadow of a doubt' what the right religion was would everyone follow it?
I tend to think people would still not agree on anything even if some God or other made himself or herself or itself manifest to all. Or to put a slightly different perspective on the question would all religions abandon their beliefs entirely if none were found to be true?
Thats a good question ! My answer would be based on past history written for examples.
The Jews as Isreal time and time again would stop following the true God and Sovereign of Heaven and earth. The creator of all things. They knew him very well and lived by a contract of laws , first as ten commandments.
Then principle laws more direct to morals of right and wrong. Did they stay faithful ? No they went off many times and mixed in foreign and pagan worship that violated their vow and promise.
People tend to live what is convenient for their lifestyle , they live according to what makes tjem happy and satisfied even if its wrong in Gods law. They will ignore and cast him away for what they want and want to do.
Thats real.
The problem is yes you can make a decision as you please for now.
But there is a time limit to follow truth and proper life style thats approved by our creator.
The difference is he owns the planet , those that are aware of his position and care and respect that position will keep living as long as he does. Anything else is not guaranteed
Under his promise.
My final answer is no people will chose out of convenience .they will see the truth but decline based on the flesh rather then the spirit of God leading them into life eternal.
P.S. I meant to say also, that I am human with strengths and frailities but I accept the consequences of my actions and decisions when I go about my life using my intuition, core values and benevolent ways.
Eric I find your wavelength provocative:)
When did you receive "THE ANOINTING" K&T? How can one be "lead by GOD" & can't answer that Q(I Pet 3:15)? Propaganda! "Based on 'history?'
3K'S: I can't find Scripture which says "Use 'intuition!" Enlighten me!
It would seem that this question suggests that we can have rational thought and faith. Try as we might and I do so often one must make a leap of faith.
This is a timeless question, and a good one to help reconcile that we can be normal functioning logical people and still have the ability to believe in and "trust" our totally illogical faith. I love learning about the faith of men like Darwin and Einstein. Regardless of their conclusion they went through the machinations regarding the manifestation of God in our physical world. Our philosopher/mathematician friend Descartes came up with "Cogito Ergo Sum" "I think therefor I am", which indeed shows that logic does not prove God.
Doubting Thomas needing proof to believe in Jesus had to touch his wounds to be sure it was God.
Proof is the elixir for those who cannot believe in a God.
So we ask; Can man prove the existence of something so incomprehensible and a omnipotent and omnipresent being?
Here we assume man can.
No I would not believe because there was perfect unassailable proof. Proof and faith do coexist but not one to determine the other.
JESUS SAID in Jn10:38 "...though u believe not, BELIEVE THE WORKS..."
According to Scripture FAITH manifests PROOF (Hebrews Chapter 11)!
Jm2:17 says "FAITH w/o [manifestation of] WORKS is DEAD!"
Phil2:13"For it is GOD which worketh in you..."
At this point in time my reiligion is to be humane, follow my intuition and core values. And, to stay open and curious about life and people.
Excellent principles, but surely that is a philosophy rather than a religion?
That is my religion Stella.
My philosophy is my religion.
Col2:8"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy & vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and NOT AFTER CHRIST!"
NO! Especially "proclaimed" Christians!
Everyone "claims" to have a "personal relationship with the LORD," yet it doesn't matter WHAT GOD SAID; they "know" because "That's the way *I/we* do it!" If GOD has "ONE" MIND, why are there so many different "interpretations?" MOST don't have "a personal relationship with the LORD!"
GOD DOES NOT LIE (Numbers 23:19)! HE SAID HE "...would make a 'new covenant' [wherein] HE would "put HIS laws in our hearts and minds" (Jeremiah 31:33;Hebrews8:10;10:16)! This is where we CURRENTLY live; under the New Covenant! How does HE "put HIS laws in our hearts and minds?" Acts 1:2 "Until the day in which he as taken up, 'AFTER THAT' HE [LISTEN!] 'THROUGH THE HOLY GHOST' had given COMMANDMENTS to the apostles whom HE had chosen." HE does the same TODAY (Hebrews 13:8); through the HOLY GHOST; is how HE "puts HIS laws in our hearts and minds!" Ephesians 4:8;11-12 says "Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave 'gifts' unto men.(v11) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some; evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers. (v12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ!" How then can one say "HE did that back then?" Based on this Scriptures HE CURRENTLY "chooses" "apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers!" JESUS CURRENTLY "CHOOSES!"
We are CURRENTLY under a NEW COVENANT which is "ALL SPIRITUAL!" HE "puts HIS laws in our hearts and minds" via the HOLY GHOST; "IF" we have OBEYED HIS 'LAST' Commandment in Acts 1:4; "...COMMANDED THEM that they they should not depart from Jerusalem, but "WAIT" for 'THE PROMISE' (John 14:26; 16:13) of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard from me!" Scripture says this was HIS 'LAST' Commandment because Acts 1:9 says "And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was TAKEN UP; and a cloud received him out of their sight!"
The disciples "OBEYED" HIS 'LAST' Commandment and THE PROMISE came in Acts 2:2 which gave them POWER (Acts 1:8) PROMISED in John 14:26; 16:13!
Consequently, the disciples received 'THE CONNECTION' (aka HOLY GHOST) to "hear from HIM" (Jeremiah 31:34) so HE could "put HIS laws in their hearts and minds!"
THIS IS AN "ALL SPIRITUAL" Covenant! Have you "OBEYED" HIS 'LAST' Commandment for 'THE CONNECTION?' If not, what "personal relationship do you have with the LORD?"
Blessings
Stella: No 'Religion' is TRUE!
ONLY GOD (aka SPIRIT) is TRUE (Rm3:4)!
Why IMPERATIVE we "CONNECT" (Acts 1:4="WAIT") for 'REAL' TRUTH!
Blessings

...would it destroy your life? So many people these days seem so dependent on God for everything, so wrapped up in letting him solve all their problems for them. It absolves them of so much responsibility for their own lives.Do you think these people could cope if it was taken away from them? It...

Hypothetical Question: What if it were proven there's only one true God and It wasn't your God?For this question, you must use your imagination. You must pretend the premise of the question is true and then answer it accordingly. The premise is that God has been discovered and it's been proven...

It's easy to deconvert to atheism because they are disappointed, hurt or because they have lost their faith due to God making sense. It's harder to suddenly make a rational atheists convert to Christianity, which is faith-based. How does it happen?

What if this happened today. All the news networks, all the world leaders, all the scientists, all the leaders of churches announced that it was proven that God does not exist. Proven beyond any reasonable doubt whatsoever. What would you do? How would society and the world react?

Where does someone like me, with psychic ability, fit into Christianity? Do you think I am evil?I believe in God & Jesus & God's Holy Spirit. But I was born psychic. I see dead people and I talk to dead people. It is a God-given ability. I help people. Yet I cannot label myself as...
