The fourth stage of spiritual alchemy is called "conjunction" and literally means to align, as in planets. But for alchemy, it means to align your chakras. Particularly the four lower chakras. It is an UNDERSTANDING of how to master your fears (first chakra), sexual energies (second chakra) self-will (third chakra) and self-love (fourth chakra). When you have reached an understanding, then your lower chakras will align. The key, or tool is LOVE.

Do you work with your upper chakras, too? It is very easy to move the energies into the upper chakras and work with the heart and head chakras.

Not yet, I'm not really sure how. Of course I may be working with the upper chakras unconsciously. How do you work with the upper chakras?

One way, and the most direct, is to direct your energies from the lower chakras upward in to the upper chakras as you meditate. You will need to protect your solar plexus chakra from intrusion because it picks up unwelcome emotions from others around you, and it should be the next to open because it's just above the lower chakras. Every get "butterflies in your stomach" from seeing someone or an animal injured? That is the open solar plexus absorbing empathetic energies. Put a shield in front of it as you work. You also can bring these energies up as far as you can until you reach all the way to the crown chakra.

You are welcome to contact me privately. I can suggest some websites and also some books that might teach you if you don't have anyone locally who can work with you. I see you as a fellow seeker.

What are the upper chakras for/what is their purpose. ?I clearly understand the lower,as I've een dealing with them for years. But I'm not sure what to expect from the upper.

The upper, especially three upper, the heart, brow (third-eye), and the crown are your spiritual chakras. They connect you with the spiritual world and with your advanced fellow man. This is just a rudimentary explanation: The heart chakra is the chakra of love for your fellow man, animals, the earth and the spirits that you will meet on your journey. The third-eye chakra helps you to develop your spiritual and psychic awareness, and the crown chakra connects you to the awareness of your soul. That is really difficult to explain until you've experienced it. The crown also attaches to your "silver cord" or "silver thread". As long as the silver cord is attached, you are alive and can leave and return to the body, as in dreams, astral travel or even in a coma. When the silver cord is detached, your soul can't return to the body and your body dies.
Because you are asking me these questions, I believe that you are ready to concentrate on the upper chakras and advance to a higher level.

Maybe. Although I seem to be experiencing a bit of ego-inflation. I know I need to tame that before I can do anything else. I'm sure that needs to be worked on before I can even think about the spiritual chakras.

I actually don't think so. I think working on the upper chakras can help to tame the ego because it teaches you that there is something more important than ego. We are all ego-driven most of the time until we learn to overcome it, and that usually takes upper-chakra help.

My daughter is going to teach me all of the chakra and computer technology stuff.

I am teaching her mix Martial arts to beat off the boys.  Then how to win an international 3D animation title.
