Angels and other strangers

The adage that angels are our guiding light has to me become less tenuous indeed. Angels, being creatures of the ether, could be preceived to affect our lives only in so far as they make themselves manifest in some form or the other that neither surprises nor perplexes. The laws of physics notwithstanding, these heavenly sentries do not seem to mind being pulled this way or that way, in ways less forceful than the slightest tug to their pure-white sleeves. However we might wish that these  "light of our lives" never return to their ethereal moorings, they could not  possibly illuminate all the nooks and crannies of our everyday existence even if they are able to bend with our most thoughtful wishes.

Of course...that is, if you believe in angels and that they could move and be moved in less mysterious ways than Einstein's  relativity conundrum.

Obviously you need to be enlightened. We are all created in a spiritual form first and foremost. We are assigned by God to a human form, in order to blend in with the other humans already on earth. We have all been assigned certain tasks, duties, objectives, that must be carried out, as well we need to learn as much as we possibly can learn about God our creator, and his expectations, prior to returning to Him in Heaven, when he recalls us. Therefore guardian angels are spirits visiting us to pass on to us, information, and keep watch, because satan is also an angel but evil and can if we are not careful corrupt us as he himself is corrupted.

        Hello Dave:
Thank you for posting your comments. I must admit that I need some enlightening on some issues (Obama's leftist ideology comes to mind), but on this one I will have to disagree. I do agree with what you are saying about angels, but your statement "We have all been assigned certain tasks, duties, objectives that must be carried out...." riled me no end. You see I believe in free will and your proposal that God created robots and not human beings capable of  unique, specific, and soporific ideas, ideals and ideologies, chilled my bone to the core.

          A.Villarasa,

I don't think he meant it that way. What I think he is saying is that, God has a plan for our lives but, we choose to follow His plan or not. There is no coercion but a simple choice....smile

Yes, here is the simple choice from the bible.

If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall say to him, "You shall not live, because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord." When he prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall thrust him through.   (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)

Now there is a choice for you! lol lol lol

You've been told all about this many times yet you still persist. Gods people were killing baby killers and child m%Le#@ers and just horrid awful people who ate people and drank their blood. The worst gods people ever did was eat the animal sacrifice they offered to God.

now get over this obsession with what you wrongly perceive as bible cruelty to humans.

it was over land and land only. God didn't tell his people to loot for money he wanted them to have the land and rightly so, because the other nations who had gods that told them to steal murder r@pe, destroy had no such limitations. The people you say were horrible were actually the meek and peaceful ones.

for the last time i hope.
yah, hehe.. god can Smart Bomb a good sized piece of hail.. no problem onto a baby killer... okay... B A B Y     K I L L E R... remember that.

Michelle went to Granada and the Spanish gypsies greeted the girls and Michelle in a flamenco cave. Gypsies have a tendency of being "out of touch" with world events and news, and they are funny as hell. This gypsy woman, part of the flamenco dance group that performed for the first lady, didn't really know how to pronounce Obama. She kept on calling her Mohamma...

She said "Mohamma... bring your husband next time, Mohamma!" lol
It was all over the news! Really really funny!!! Anyways, Michelle stood up and danced flamenco and all. She left with tears in her eyes and promised to come back with Mohamma!

well bible says, repent and be saved and you shall not perish. Since there is only one god and he created the angels, well ya have to go by the rules.
Being the best person you can be, without the knowledge of God and without a personal relationship with him is called "salvation by works" and it does not measure up to Gods standards. We cannot earn our way in God has to allow us entry, even after salvation we cannot earn or force or work our way in only by obedience to the promptings of his holy spirit, there's that personal relationship aspect again, can we obtain the promises of God.

Being an angel isn't so great. They only do what they are told to do and since jesus' visitation they have been pretty much on standby as far as helping people.

John 14:6   Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

          Yes, I realize this.

As far as angels go, here are a few things I think may be possible.  You ever get a thought to do something wrong then all of a sudden you change your mind?  Is that an Angel guiding you?

You ever need something really bad?  The next thing you know someone is giving it to you, without you asking for it.  Couldn't we accept the possibility of God working through Angels?

          Just a thought.

Thank you Dave for clarifying that, this is what I was referring to, to begin with.

Hebrews 13:2   Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Nice verse, be not forgetful to entertain strangers, (talking to us) for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. (talking about the OT examples of angel visitations) Of course we know that angels can refer to human emissaries as well.

unawares perhaps, but a full on sign, a glowy angel visitation that interferes with your faith walk, nope. Angel visitations were allowed in the first dispensation but not in the second.

God has called us to be sons of god and to no angel has he ever called a son.

angels are not flesh and blood and neither can be. Show me a scripture that says that. They come in the shape of men, but jesus said feel my hands a spirit hath not flesh and blood as ye see. Angels are spiritual beings and can never manifest in the flesh.

Scripture is all well and good, but didn't Adam and Eve eat from the tree of forbidden fruit?  Giving each individual their own thoughts?  I have my thoughts and you have yours, each of us gets to interpret the Word in their own fashion.

                I like my way better.

Your way is not accurate. Accuracy is tantamount. This is why we have scripture and not so everybody can interpret their own way. This is why the holy spirit of god lives inside us and is called the spirit of truth. Your focus needs to be on submission to god, not trying to be something you scripturally cannot be.

but whatever.. i have done my job. You may do as you please, my hands are clean. I sense our discussions are over.
