~There is superficial conflict but deep concord between science and religion: philosopher Alvin Plantinga has argued.~
Religion if correctly understood is based on the Word revealed from the Creator-God Allah YHWH through the truthful Messengers Prophets in different parts of the World. Religion does not prohibit doing scientific queries for the betterment of the human beings. Main focus of the Religion is on ethical, moral and spiritual domains of the human life.
Science focuses on the physical domain of the life and has hardly to do with the ethical, moral and spiritual domains of the human life; Science simply is not designed for them.
Religion and Science are therefore complementary and not contradictory.
No. Sorry. You must be very angry - again.
I think religion has a bit more to do with controlling the population than morality.
I agree. They don't like science because people are waking up to the the reality that they've been duped
You mean controlling the numbers or something else is in your mind. Please elaborate.
I meant controlling people's minds - making them live in fear etc; but now that you mention it, controlling numbers does come into it too
What fear? Please elaborate.
A businessman fears the losses; he makes effort so that his business does not suffer a loss; this way he makes profit. Is the profit he makes an illegitimate one?
You may put it in another way; the businessman loves his business and does not want that it should get ruined, he makes effort to get more profits and also makes effort not to incur any losses; so this love and fear run his business. I think it is quite reasonable and rational.
religion is mere effort of human race to give meaning to life ..it is also manifestation of something called zeal for eternal life...
I love science, and love it when there is more scientific discovery. It will all pan out.
Religion and Science are therefore complementary and not contradictory.
you are the judge , the lawyer and the verdict is announced...
well both start with same thing..origin of both is same..quest of getting answers...while religion bangs on creative faculty and imagination , science bangs on logic, creative faculty and physical proofs...religion tried to answer many question..some it got right ..some it got wrong and some cannot be proven ...science too got few answers wrong but those wrong answers were corrected by science again..
Man could fail to understand the Word revealed by the Creator-God Allah YHWH; this can be improved and corrected; similarly man could fail to understand natural laws, which are Work of the Creator-God Allah YHWH; this is also subject to improvement and correction.
You know to err is human
Parr God is Christian, Allah is Muslim, YHWH is Jewish which are you , use one drop two make up your mind are you Christian, Muslim or Jewish??

Faith is something to believe in not based on experiment but on experiences that cannot be explained in science. Science is the intrinsic, concrete, literal and obvious observation proven in various ways of explanation. Are you skeptical about this?

So I borrowed this idea from Misha to start a new thread. For me, I can give one particular instance where I think science and religion/spirituality are complementary, as crossing each other's boundaries. When I think of energy; where Kirlian photography has proven the existence of the energy...

That religion and science are irreconcilable comes from the atheistic/secularist notion that like oil and water, religion and science would and should never mix. This belies the historical/factual perspective of say, Sir Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein being guided by metaphysical thinking. The...

Science and religion has led to mass social order and material advancements. Arguably, these were necessary developments in our human evolution. However, in either case, they have set rules to the understanding of our existence based on human decisions that have dictated these two...

Do they create a perfect balance? If there was no science with religion, what would hold religion in check to make up whatever they wanted? The same with science, if there was no religion, who would keep science from making up whatever they wanted?

My mind and intellect tell me of the existance of dinosoars, ancient relatives of man, possible evidence of extra terrestrial life, yet my heart cannot release me from a strong belief in god.I feel as though the two main aspects of my being are in conflict.Science tells us one thing, giving reasons...
