I'm wondering if anyone else who is a professing Christian is getting "too personal/preachy " e-mails about your Christian walk? (This is my first, and I'm annoyed!)Yes, I am a grateful Christian, and certainly not ashamed to say so....but this?????? I'm not liking this.
I don't mind getting chatty, friendly emails. (Actually love 'em.)But this? I'm not liking this, because there was no conversational introduction, chit chat or anything. Just way too preachy and anyone who has bothered to read my profile knows my priorities. ....(sigh....)
HERE IS THE E-MAIL BELOW:
How is your walk with Christ? Are you growing closer to the Lord? Can you say Christ has increased, and I have decreased?
I believe that all our life should be lived for the Lord.
May we all have a passion for Christ, and may we exalt His holy name in all that we think, see or do!
Yours sincerely, in Christ
name was here, but lets just call him John Doe.
Report it as spam to HubPages.... end of, they will not be able to post emails again.
Good morning. I am over it, except I am mad at my stupid ole self.they apologized sincerely. It was big of this person, and I sincerely accepted. Now I am angry with myself. I was wrong to think someone would just help me out with the question. Thanks aquasilver.
While I do not believe nor follow christian doctrine.
There is nothing wrong with the email especially since you are within their circles.
It just an email from a regular concerned christian. . . Nothing to make a fuss.
At least it gives you a chance for research and to know the Truthful Religion.
KESS, that is not the question I asked. Didn't ask what you thought, just wanted to have an answer to my QUESTION. Just because you think it is okay doesn't mean others do. ANYWAY this person apologized. That is good enough for me.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong here, but what you're saying is that you don't like Christians doing what their god commanded them to do by spreading the word?
Where have I heard that before?
THE PERSON APOLOGIZED. I was wrong .That person, did not realize it was unacceptable to me. I , being an American, just don't understand some other cultures. It is my fault entirely for misreading what was intended.
They are just doing what they are meant to do. They may not know you are a Christian.
Don't sweat it.
Didn't ask for your advice. Read original question.I had a legitimate question which was pretty much ignored. My profile is quite clear about my faith. YOU OBVIOUSLy didn't take time to read the thread. The person graciously apologized immediately, so your comment is moot.
Hi ya Mark. How goes it?
I was really wanting to know if we that ALREADY SAID said that we follow Christ are getting email from this particular person, or is it just me he/she? feels a need to preach to..(annoy).
No offense meant to you, but I wasn't thinking that you would get one.asking.....You have ..umm....You have made clear your stand. The point is so have I, and that is what has annoyed me about this email. I sincerely am trying to find out from other hubbers on the Christian forum about this.
Your picture??? We are not all like that. I mind my own business, unless asked. I am not perfect , and have no illusions that I am! I just try my best!
Regards,
Jackie
Hi Jackie,
I was directing this at the person who sent you the message, and having a little fun at the same time. Obviously the person who sent you the message thinks you are not doing it right.
And - I guess it must have escaped your attention - but an awful lot of Christians do not think all the other Christians are real Christians and feel the need to correct them in order to save them from being tortured by god.
We have a few of them here:
http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/53538
You can pretty much make the bible say anything you want it to. This is why Christianity causes so many conflicts.
And I get quite a few writing to me to tell me I should stop not believing and be saved. Despite having made it clear I am not interested. But - when god tells you to do stuff - it is hard to refuse.
Regards
Mark
Oh, I see. So you get letters, too? Sho is annoying!
See, I'm welsh /irish/Scott ancestry.(that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it!)...so.....I over-reacted. I have calmed down a bit and see that it was a bit childish to rant. The person probably meant no harm....just a little green about how to be authentic.
Plus,it's three am, I have a heat rash and can't sleep!HA!
LOL
Sho is - as are the flyers under your windscreen wipers, the knocking on doors, accosting in the street, TV ads, Internet ads for "Jesus coins," and all the other stuff.
Try Aloe Vera for your rash. If you live in the states - which I assume you do - the plants are inexpensive and readily available. Break a shoot off and spread the jelly like substance inside over your rash. Great for all sorts.
Oh, I have a plant right here in the kitchen! thanks! I'm sure it will help.I do remember hearing about that years ago. I'm off to try that and go to bed.(...and I live in tropical Louisiana,USA . Stayed on the riding lawnmower too long in 100 degree heat ,and heat index was 109!)
thanks!
night...........yawn....
bayoulady, Wish I could send you some of our Minnesota weather.
We have highs in the 70's and lows in the upper 40's and 50's. It would
give you some relief for a while. I don't think you would want what's coming in a couple months tho.
I am waiting for the first frost so we can get rid of out famous state bird,
(the mosquito). Then it's time for sitting around a bonfire, roasting hotdogs and having some smores.
Hope your weather relents and cools down a little.
THE PERSON WROTE A SINCERE APOLOGY, WHICH I SINCERELY ACCEPTED.
NOT ONE PERSON ANSWERED MY ORIGINAL QUESTION.
I simply wanted to know if this is happening because I've only been on here a few months.
PLEASE. I WAS WRONG TO RANT. VERY,VERY WRONG. THE PERSON APOLOGIZED. I APPRECIATE THAT.
CAN WE STOP ALREADY???? I mean , can we drop it, close the thread?
They probably didn't mean it to be preachy, anyway. Just zealous in their faith. But sometimes those things come across that way.
I got a real tongue lashing, shame & blame comment on a hub I had. Whoa, baby, it was ruthless! I eventually took the hub down but this guy was absolutely NOT displaying Christian love...he was shaming me for my outward lash at those who had wronged me in the past.
Thanks donotfear.........RIGHT..........They TOTALLY didn't realize the offense, and I was wrong to think so. Just need to think about other cultures before I get my feelings hurt. They did apologize, and I asked them to forgive me. I wrote hubpages to stop comments, and why. I feel SO bad, because NOW I have made them hurt. That's what I get for my hasty reaction.
Ms Bayou, I can feel for you, there are also nasty people emailing here about wanting to have sex and giving their phone numbers, and they are members of HubPages for only a week or two.
Ha!prettydarkhorse............I had no idea,,,and eewwww ugh.........No chance of that with me! I am 61, wear a size 16, and look just average. See my picture on my printzmetal's angina page. Plus, my avatar is 3 kitchen barstools. Not a lovely young lady like yourself!
Thanks

Can only Christians and those who accept Jesus Christ go to heaven?According to Christianity, only those who have openly accepted Jesus Christ and the Christian faith may go to heaven. If that is the case, what about the African tribe who has never heard of of Jesus? Even if they are good people,...

Christians, could you ever love or even like an atheist?I'm an atheist and at least 90% of the people I love are Christians. I only have a problem with Christians who use religion as a weapon to harm or control others. Obviously, I know Christians can love atheists because, well, all those people I...

When someone is passionate about a cause, they try to persuade others to join it. Indeed that's often what demonstrates they are passionate about it. So why shouldn't Christians who are passionate about their cause, try to persuade people to join that cause, just like political parties, charities,...

I am a Christian, and an American. I believe in the freedom to believe in anything you choose to (or not). What I don't understand is why Christianity is under attack.I don't necessarily believe in everything the "Church" teaches, but I don't bash other religions, and frankly,...
