I do not understand why some Christians insist that the Temple must be rebuilt again.

What verses in scripture says this?

Perhaps they are talking about when Jesus says he is going to prepare a place for us in his fathers mansion.

    Ha penny  hozit goin.

What I was getting at is the temple that many Christians believe  MUST  be rebuilt in Jerusalem before the second coming.

I don't think that the bible says this.
If it did, that would mean that he will not come until the temple was rebuilt.

This would mean that Jesus   CAN  NOT   come in the next few years ???

So I was just wondering, for those that believe that the temple is going to be rebuilt;  where do they get this from.

I think it is a misinterpretation of scripture.  ??????

I am with you? I have never heard that it has to built in Jerusalem. If they believed that then it would have had to be built in the seventies for some here. They sold all their belongings waiting for the second coming which was meant to happen in 77 or somewhere around there. As it was it didn't happen. I too think scripture may have been misinterpreted.

The fact too that he will come like a thief in the night seems to be pointing to an internal thing and not an actual physical thing.

For many reasons ...  Just popping in and out these days ,

      - - - - -
As a thief in the night ???
Usually a thief in the night comes in ... gets what he came after ...and gone before anyone else sees them!!!

I think he already did that    and it didn't happen like everyone thinks that is going to.
         Due to improper interpretation.

I think that was the point. Those who were awake would realize that second coming. Those who were sleeping would not. It seems to be pointing to our awareness levels rather than the physical acts of waking and sleeping.
