Is there any sport you wish you had played when you were younger?

Sometimes I wish I had started a sport when I was younger so I would be better at it now. Are there any sports you wish you had played when you were younger?

i wish I learned how to swim. Unfortunately, there are no swimming classes offered in  the small town where I grew up.

Dancing, gymnastics, figure skating... Always wanted to be flexible and be able to dance... Unfortunately that never happened sad

Also tennis. I started playing tennis at 16, I would definitely be better now if I started earlier.

I agree with Shushanik. Looking back I would have loved to do gymnastics or ballet. I'm really petite and flexible too so I think I could have been decent at it. Other than that I wish I had started snowboarding earlier (I was 13 the first time I went).

As a child, I was not allowed to play too many sports. I was encouraged to do plenty of outdoor and after school activities, just not with an emphasis on sports. However, today I love soccer, and I coach AYSO for 12-19 year olds. I absolutely wish that I had played as a child so that I could be in better shape and understand the game better for my own players.

Ice hockey; I wish I had started when I was 2 rather than 5. If you read Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell you will understand why (i.e. 10,000 hour rule).

Baseball and soccer. I didn't become a baseball fan until later when I was a teenager, and was teased about how bad I played in school. So, it would have been nice to have played as a kid so I wouldn't have been so awkward later. Soccer, on the other hand, I was super enthusiastic about the first time I ever played it at school when I was in 1st grade. I would have been really good, because I've always been naturally strong in my legs and a good sprinter. But when I brought it up to my mom she shot me down, saying I wasn't assertive enough to play soccer...so I lost confidence and never tried to get on a team. I regret that to this very day.

Definitely swiming. I was always a good swimmer, but was never coached or trained. I'm pretty tall, which helps as well. Now when I go to my kids' swim meets, it looks like a lot of fun. Plus, all the girls hanging around in swim suits... what was I thinking not trying out?!?!?!
