   Well Messi earned a lot more respect in the recent Madrid Barcelona match. I think Ronaldo's always been a bit over hyped

   I would have to go with Messi, utter class.  No upfront provado or attitude like Ronaldo, Messi simply gets on with his job.

   On stats alone its easy....Messi has contributed more in terms of goals and assists. Ronaldo is a great goal scorer and has become more selfish (not saying its a bad thing) in front of goal since Ferguson told him to do so at Manchester United .
   
   Having watched the recent Madrid derby (Ive even written a hub about it) I would find it near impossible for anyone to argue that Ronaldo is the better all round player.
   
   Messi is without doubt one of (if not the) best football player in the world today.

    please.....the little argentinian hands down.....ronaldo goes missing in big games, messi is involved in everything barcelona do thats good, never looks frustrated and like the world is against him much different to ronaldo

    Everyone votes for Messi then. He plays for the best club in the world. What will happen if he plays for some other team where Xavi, iniesta, pedro and other barca players are missing. His form For Argentina can give you a hint!

    In my opinion..both of them achieved great things in their respective clubs..but Messi will be nothing without Xavi,Iniesta or other Barca's player..whereas CR7 can play with any club with any line-up and score everywhere..SO. OVERALL RONALDO IS THE BETTER PLAYER...
