What are good ways to build muscle if you don't have access to weights or other equipment?
I do pushups and dips, which are good for my chest, shoulders, and triceps, but I'm looking for some other exercises I can do at home without equipment.
hey copperllama, I have posted a reply on my hub which you commented on. Let me know if it is ok or if you want some more information.
There are lots of things around the house that you can use to provide the resistance needed for building muscle. Even things like a couple of milk jugs are good for weight training. Just look around your house, keeping in mind that building muscle is about working your muscles against some sort of resistance, and see what you come up with.
Squats, lunges, overhead squats, Single leg squats, side lunges, step ups, bridges, (don't forget there are many, MANY different types of push-ups), sit-ups, the superman, the plank, squat-thrusts (not my favourite, but I'm working on it), jumping jacks (kind of boring though) and stair running.
These are also good for working out when you're away from home for a few weeks and don't have access to a gym. They can all be done in a hotel room!
Also, don't underestimate the benefits of yoga.
