Why does the score in Tennis go from 15 love to 30 love to 40 love?
I have always been bemused by 5this fact that the Tennis Score in any game goes from 15 love to thirty love to 40 love. Also what is the meaning of deuce?
Hi, love stands for cero but is a much nicer way of saying "you are losing", or "you don’t get one right" in the case of 40-love. Deuce is 40-40 or 40-all. As to why the count goes from 15 to 30 to 40, I can’t say I know.
L'oeuf (egg denoting zero) probably became 'love'. Deuce must have come from 'deux' (two) to mean both were neck to neck and the 15, 30 and 40 are supposed to have come from the clock face with the game ending at 60.

My Hubscore drops after I edit a Hub. Is anyone else experiencing this situation? There have been times in which the score has gone up to reflect the editing process. I'm not sure if this is normal.

Pretty much without exception my Hub score will drop two, three or more points within an hour or two of first posting a Hub. Then it gradually, eventually goes up again. For example, today, March 31, 2011, I posted a...
