What do you think about western martial arts.
I've always wanted to learned martial arts, but since I become a Christian it's like I lost my chance. It's not for self-defense or exercise, I just have a heavy interest in it.
I'm not sure why you feel that becoming a Christian precludes you from practicing Eastern martial arts: there's no requirement to convert to Buddhism for instance. However, there are two Western fighting styles that are often overlooked when people consider learning a martial art: boxing and fencing.
Whilst fencing is great fun and a wonderful way of sharpening reflexes, it isn't very practical day to day for self-defence. However, boxing is a wonderful all round sport and a useful skill to have. I'd recommend it.

Do you view Mixed Martial Arts (UFC) as a real sport?I personally do, but I come across people all the time who say otherwise. Yet when they try to provide reasoning for their decision, they usually aren't very good arguments. I'm curious as to how some of you feel.
