“Tiger Woods taking hiatus from golf.”
I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try.
I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What’s most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.
After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.
Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period".
Just curious as to what MIGHT come out of this?
Didn't his wife say - "It's me or golf?"
Well, Woods evidently chose GOLF & 10 OTHER WOMEN
Most likely a divorce, hundreds more tournament wins, millions of dollars, and a different woman every night, if not two or more.
Great point. Well now, he's betrayed both of these priorities. His womanizing has forced him to take a break from the game that was his life.
Not that I care one way or the other, but isn't it the extramarital sex he should be giving up instead of the golf?
ya think???? lmao, he should, needs to get his priorities straight.
Tiger should take a permanent freaking hiatus. Guys like him just make me crazy. I hope his wife has balls and a good lawyer.
he should have thought about the privacy issue before he decided to make millions of dollars off of his stardom.
at least thought about it before deciding to be a male slut.
The move Tiger made to indefinitely remove himself from the PGA Tour is smart. He needs to straighten things out in his life first before thinking about golfing. Tiger not playing will hurt attendance at PGA Tour events and TV ratings but the tour will survive. There are a lot of great golfers on the PGA Tour. Phil Mickelson is great. Padraig Harrington is very good. Sergio Garcia is focused on winning his first major. Vijay Singh can sure play. It will be an adjustment but as the slogan of the PGA says, "these guys are good".
there are other great golfers and it will be even more of an incentive for these guys to show their stuff. someone like TW who was pushed into stardom from a young age.. I think they become numb to reality after they reach a certain level.
in a few months he is coming back swinging, get it swinging.. who cares let the man be. He made mistakes let him correct them one by one.
What a gay and feminist world we live in... Tiger Woods a succesful golfer, why don't we just let him pump whoever he wants (except children), give the guy a break, this is none of our business
After quitting golf he will go back and play golf with his ladies

Is Tiger Woods return to the game of golf that significant?I think so. I will be the first to admit that I am a casual golf fan. It only becomes a must watch when Tiger is in the hunt. My wife who is worst than me only knows one name. It is like when Michael was playing, she see only watched...

Tiger has announced he will return to golf at the Masters and to be honest I don't want him to win. I would prefer a Mickelson victory...although if he's in contention it will be exciting!

I felt like this weekend's US Open I was watching a renewed game where there is intrigue and interest without Tiger. One young talented and seemingly nice guy that plays at the highest level is very refreshing. Looking forward to seeing Rory play next.

Even Nicklaus applauded him!!This win tied Woods with Nicklaus — the tournament founder!! http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/04/sport … -wins.html

14 Majors, 71 PGA victories, and a golfer who dominates his profession!!! There have been countless clutch performances when discussing Tiger Woods as the best ever, but is he better than Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Jerry Rice....I think he is...Tiger Woods (like Jordan) has revolutionized...

I just realized that with all of Tiger's recent 'transgressions,' how did he focus in his tournaments? If i was him, that would constantly be on my mind! Imagine how good he actually could have been if he was on the straight-and-narrow!
