    Should you run for time or distance when training for a race?

    Some training programs suggest running for x amount of minutes during the weekly runs. Others have a set number of miles to run during weekly runs.

    I am not a runner but I would think it would be important to run for distance and then once you achieved your goal then try to work on your time.
