Using chemical-based products doesn't always work on you, sometimes making it worse. Well if that seems to be your case, there are several alternatives you can do naturally in order to wipe them away. One way is by making your own face mask using natural ingredients that you can find at home. You won't lose anything if you try it, preparation is so easy, very affordable and effective. Homemade Face Masks For Acne

Salt Face Mask

This homemade face mask is so easy to make. All you need is just salt and water. Dissolve one teaspoon of salt for every oz. of water. Apply the solution to the affected areas and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. Salt is known for its antibacterial content so it cleans and at the same time dries acne spots which makes it a better start for treating acne scars.

Oatmeal Face Mask

This is commonly used in skin care regimen as it helps cleanse the problem areas without making them dry. It helps exfoliate the skin, removes dead outer layer cells thus unclog pores, and makes them smoother. To make a face mask, oatmeal can be mixed with honey, a natural antiseptic. Simply use one serving or sachet of plain oatmeal and about 2 tbsp. of honey to make a paste. Apply the mask unto the affected areas and leave it on the skin for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse your face with lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean cloth.

Pumpkin Mask

Pumpkin or squash is rich in nutrients like vitamin C and E plus zinc. To make a face mask out of it, use a blender to make a paste. Mix 2-3 tablespoons of pumpkin puree with either one egg white or 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Apply it to the affected areas on your face and leave it for 20 minutes. Then rinse with warm water and dry.

Egg White Mask

The procedure is very simple. You just have to separate the yolk from the egg whites. Take the egg whites and gently apply it to your face. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off with warm water. For those with oily skin, it is recommended to mix pumpkin with 1 tbsp. lemon juice. After using this mask your skin will be clear and tight.

Baking Soda and Water

If you want a simple yet effective face mask, then this one is for you. Simply mix 2-3 tbsp. of baking soda and water as if you're making a dough but it should be softer. Apply the mixture to your face. Leave it for 10-20 minutes or until it gets dry and then rinse it off with warm water.

Yogurt- Honey Mask

As the the name implies, It simply consists of yogurt and honey. All you need to do is take 1 tbsp. of heated honey (just a little) and mix it with 1-2 tbsp. of either medium -fat yogurt or a non-fat yogurt. Gently apply it to your acne and leave it on for 15- 20 minutes. Rinse off after and pat dry with clean cloth.
