How to Wear Long Sleeve Dresses

Sexy Winter Trend

Long sleeve dresses are perfect for winter. Obviously! Why not be as warm as possible while still maintaining some style in the winter months. Where I live (The Land of Icy Blizzards), mother nature cramps my style eight months out of the year! Long sleeved dresses are a must for my wardrobe. Long sleeved dresses have long had a semi-bad rep, being labeled as boring or dowdy. Remember those awful muu muus? Yes, long sleeve dresses can be horrifying, but, they don't have to be!

Because the long-sleeved dress can look very conservative, you can go a bit shorter on the length or with the cleavage. There are so many styles of long sleeved dresses nowadays, there's a dress for any style and look. It's an easy look to pull together, so lets get started!

Shopbop, $320

I love the cutouts of this dress. It's adds an extra sexiness to an otherwise plain, monochromatic dress. I love the style mimic on the shoes too -- they have the same cutouts!

Go Classic

Love monochromatics? Go for a more classic look, like the Metrostyle on the right. I love how this dress doesn't lie flat like a sheathe, it's cute that the bottom flares out into an A-Line. It's unusual for a long sleeved dress. It's extremely flattering for all body-types!

In my opinion, the 3/4 sleeve totally counts as long sleeves! Want this dress? Click on the Amazon link below!

Go Wild

Animal prints are going to be HOT for 2011. Why not try it out on a long sleeve dress? Printed long sleeved dresses are a personal favorite because the long-sleeve dress tends to look plain. When doing a very busy print, keep everything else somewhat neutral. Do not carry an animal print bag and shoes! Notice how her "girls" are covered up and her clutch is black?

The one Nicki Hilton wears to the right is the perfect fit and length for her great legs!

Go Floral

I love florals on almost everything lately. Long sleeved dresses are no exception. I especially love how this floral dress has a vintage feel. This look is perfect for winter because it pairs some tights with the dress. Tights are a MUST for any winter dress look!

Be Romantic

I love the floaty look of this dress! It doesn't stick too tight to the body and looks amazing. I love the vintage lace look along with the satin material. This is one of my favorite long sleeved looks. I would go with bold shoes with this look, because you don't want to wash yourself out! Think bright purple booties and big hardware jewelry.
