Why do we give so much importance to outer beauty than inner beauty i.e. more weightage to face...
& body than heart?
When we see a person the eyes will recognize him or her more than your ears.
It's because man looks at the physical appearance or what is obvious and we are all being influenced by the media, which is sad. I think we should all look at what's "inside" of a person rather than the outside. Man is more concerned of what they look like, but God looks at the heart:-).
I think because of television and society itself putting beauty above what's inside a person, people look for something attractive. Look at our actors and actresses and models, etc. We grow up to believe it is important to look like them. It's basically something we are taught unwillingly in my opinion.
That is a great question! Inner beauty is the most important. If we weren't so obsessed with the outside, I think we'd be much happier overall.
I think it's the inside that counts. Nothing turns me off more than a handsome man, with a nasty attitude. Sadly society is what judges and sets standards. You can't change the world but you can help to influence your self and those around you by teaching your children to not judge a book by it's cover.
Yeah . We all should blame media and the society in which we live in for mentality. Thanks guys for answering it.
Another reason is biology, Certian characteristics denote certian genetic strengths or weaknesses. Its been proven than people with certian facial features have better immune systems, more furtile or a lower level of genetic defects. We unconciously search out a mate or breeding partner with those characteristics to improve our offsprings chance of survival. I agree with the others though; the media does color our definition of what is beautiful, its just not the only reason.....
ppl r too simple minded looks good do it watch it blow up n turn into a nightmare oh what a life
inner beauty is the most beautiful of all and the most attractive. The eyes recognize beauty from without, first glance, and it is usually fleeting, but the heart recognize beauty from within which is stronger and lasting.
We are conditioned to this behavior and I suppose nature has something to do with it as well. But we are more than animals with no self control, even if experts say we seek outer beauty as an instinctive process to insure the survival of the fittest. The quest for outer beauty seems to be an obsession in our society. People go to all means to look younger. I beleive it is out of control. Can we be our genuine selves if we mask our outer looks with plastic surgery and the like? I believe many are just unwilling to accept the aging process and see it as beautiful in its own right. It is what is on the inside that counts!

Do you believe that inner beauty is the real beauty?A person is always judged as beautiful or plain. Mostly people see the outer beauty. It isn't necessary always that people who look beautiful are beautiful at heart too. I believe in inner beauty. The person's soul must be beautiful. He/she must...

How do you define "handsome" or "beautiful?"For example, I have had people tell me that someone is handsome and I look at them and think, "Huh?" They look very nice, sort of...but handsome? I don't think so. Apparently, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder? In...
