What is the best brand of organic makeup?

I'm beginning to hear more and more about the hazardous ingredients in most makeup products.  Physician's Formula is one brand that I'm looking at, but I have no first-hand knowledge.

Soul Purpose Mineral Makeup is the best organic makeup for me. I tried Bare Minerals and other brands, but they use to make my face look cakey (I deal with seborrheic dermatitis) while Soul Purpose Mineral Makeup doesn't irritate or make me look dry or cakey.

I used Bare Minerals also and felt like it clogged my pores.  I have never heard of Soul Purpose, but will have to check it out. Thanks!

Bare minerals has mica in it, which will clog pores and is known to cause scarring on the lungs. That brand was my first experience with more natural make up but I ended up ditching it after researching a few of the ingredients.

Aveda is 97-99% plant derived. Aveda is not just a product... it's a 'lifestyle'. Do patch tests first around your jawline. You can have plant allergies you're not aware of.

Aveda was my go-to brand for many years but I recently found they use some toxic chemicals in their products. You can check out each of your products at SkinDeep.org - they have a huge database listing the toxicity of over 60,000 cosmetic products.

So far, Ecco Bella is my favorite truly organic make up brand. I have some of their powder, blush and lipsticks and I absolutely love the color and consistency of every product I've tried.

Thanks for this information.  I'm slowly trying to go organic, but I don't want to spend a ton of money trying to figure out what products are good.  I will be checking out the website you mentioned above too!

Why don't you try making some of your own cosmetics in the process? I will write a hub about a few easy make up recipes and link you to it asap. Making your own cosmetics is fun and way less expensive than buying name brand products.
