How to Turn Off the Camera Shutter Sound When Taking Picture on Samsung Reality Cell Phone

Updated on January 18, 2011

Whenever you take a picture using your Samsung Reality cell phone, it can make one of a couple sounds. In other words, you press the button to take a photo and it makes a noise. The default sound sounds a lot like those old 'film' cameras that professional photographers used so much of back in the day. The alternate sound has a melody.

The sound the camera makes when you take a picture can be annoying when you are in a quiet place.  There might be a time when you'll want to mute the sound.

I figured out how to turn off the camera sound on my Samsung Reality Cell Phone. It is not as intuitive as you'd think. The logical place to start "The Sounds Control" menu, is not the best place to start.

Step 1 to Muting Your Reality Cell Phone Camera Sound

Go ahead and unlock your Samsung Reality cell phone screen as you normally would.

Step 2

Click on the camera / video camcorder button so that the phone is in camera-mode.

(If you ever find yourself with trouble toggling between camera-mode and video camcorder-mode, I did an article on that as well. I'll link the article to the right.)

Step 3

Once in camera mode, look at the left side of the view screen. Press the "Settings" button on the lower left side of the screen.

Step 4

Now you'll see you are in the settings screen.  At the top of the screen you'll see two tabs.  Press the tools tab. This tab is the one with the wrench and gear on it.

Step 5

At the bottom of the screen, you'll see "Shutter Sound."  Next to that there is a drop down window button. Press that button.

Step 6

The drop down window appears.  Select "Off"

Step 7

Then press "OK"
The sound you hear when you take a photo on your Samsung Reality cell phone will now be mute.
