Different ways to make money from Twitter

There are many people who join Twitter just to make money online, most of them are affiliate marketers who have heard about the huge money making potential of Twitter and joined Twitter in the hope of making money. They mostly use some automated software to increase Twitter followers and tweet as many affiliate links as they can to there followers. This is a very short lived method, if you are lucky you might get some sales in the beginning but people will identify you as a spammer and within a very short time they will stop following you or add you to some obscure list that the don't care about. Making money with Twitter is same as making money online, you cant expect to make money by just creating a site and putting Adsense in it, you need to spend some time optimizing for search engines and building traffic, likewise with Twitter you need to spend some time tweeting quality content and building connections. Then you will see that the money will come to you.

The Semi Automated Way

I call this semi automated because you will automates some tweets while taking some time to engage with your users. If you are planning to make money with Twitter then user engagement is very important. More you engage with your users by retweeting and replying to there tweets more chance they will retweet your messages. Even in Twitter search more retweets your tweet gets, higher it ranks for those specific words. Twitter money making services like Sponsored Tweets etc also put a lot of weight to retweets and user engagement while measuring the price per tweet. So if you want to successfully build a long term income from Twitter then engaging with your followers is a must. After that you can use a service like SocialOomph or a software like TweetAdder to grow Twitter followers and schedule some tweets and make them appear automatically in your timeline. You can manage them using a twitter client like TweetDeck.

Engaging with a small core group

This is another great way to make money with Twitter, this method focuses on making money promoting your services to a small influential core group of people. To be successful in using this method you have to pick your core group carefully and these people should be related to the product you're going to promote or the service you are going to promote. I'm good at SEO so I was looking to promote SEO services in Sri Lanka. Most obvious people who are going to look for SEO services are Internet Marketers, Web site owners and bloggers. So I started engaging with fellow Sri Lankan bloggers and offered some friendly advice whenever I got the chance. Within a month there were many small business owners and blogger who were looking for my service. They are already assured of the quality of the service I'm going to provide because they come through a recommendation. Important thing to remember here is that you have to deliver on your promise, otherwise you will ruin your hard earned reputation and also loosing a valuable connection you have already made thorough Twitter.

Combining both ways to make a very profitable income from Twitter

You can combine both these methods to make even higher profit from Twitter. It depends on the amount of time you can dedicate to Twitter. If you are an online marketer or a professional blogger or someone who is heavily involved online work then you can spend a considerable amount of time on Twitter and you can utilize that time to increase your profits. There are many people who are criticizing Twitter as a time wasting service, and it could be, if you don't use it properly, but using it in the correct manner can definitely improve the amount of money you can make online.
