If you haven't tried this yet, check your control panel of your computer under your start menu and make sure your computer recognizes your device. If it does, go to your iTunes library and reset your iPod. And if that doesn't work, contact someone fromt the Apple website and let them know what the problem is. Check your cord again on someone else's computer too and jiggle your cord to check for loose wires within it. Sorry if that does not help.
