Why would I get a message on my computer questioning me about the security risk of the HP site?
I did a forum, but got no response, so I posted this question. Why would I get a message on my computer questioning me about the security risk of the HubPages site? I logged on as usual and then a security message came up asking me if I was sure I wanted to go to this site (HubPages)? I just clicked yes and yes again and proceeded as usual. Are we to be concerned about a security risk and logging onto this site for some reason? I appreciate the clarification. Photo is from Pixabay public domain.
My computer at work gives me a message before proceeding to the site. It asks if I want to scan the web address (at which point TrustWare will set a default discipline) or go to the URL. I always tell it to go to URL. I think this may be because of the firewalls in place for a multi-user server. However, I never get a message when I'm on my home computer. I've seen McAfee give me a Whoa! message for other sites, but never HP.
Are you getting this message on your home computer or when you access from work?
Hi Sha, thank you for sharing your insight. Yes, I am home for a couple of days and using my personal laptop. I'm just wondering why it gave me that message out of the blue? Well, maybe I was on my tablet at the time. I don't access at work.
Hmmm. No clue. Hopefully, someone will come in and enlighten both of us!
Yes, strange for sure. I use my cell phone a lot to access HP too, but I wasn't on it at the time. It hasn't given me a message today when I logged on though. I tried a forum, but guess I won't worry about it. Thanks!
Your Malware software or virus software may have had an update and you are not aware? Maybe check those for latest update dates. I know since McAfee did an update about a month back now at HP and many other sites I go to they ask me now for permission to show pop-ups. They didn't use to. There was a recent update.
Oh really, Tim. Thank you so much. That must be what it is then. I appreciate you telling me about the update. I bet that's what it is.
I think it is your virus protection has maybe picked up your words and giving you the warning that they think you are leery of. It has happened to me to and you wonder, what is this? Actually it makes me mad when my computer tries to keep me from doing what I always do but I guess the spyware is just trying to protect us.
I don't worry about it anymore if it pops up.
Hi Jackie, yes, I think so. I know, I kept typing it is okay, okay, okay. LOL But it is good it is trying to protect us, I guess. I'm glad to know it has happened to others!
