ASUS Disney

ASUS is one of the more popular brands of mini laptops. With Disney, they've teamed up to build a perfect laptop for children. This laptop is geared for kids ages 6-12.

The Disney Netpal is durable and has a reinforced mechanical design, which is great because children can be rough with their toys. If you're going to spend $300 for a laptop for your child, then you want to make sure that it will be durable.

You child will get a magical experience with the Disney laptop, which comes in pink or blue, both of which are Disney themed and feature the Disney logo.

ASUS integrated a Disney Desktop that features a 2D menu that displays a Disney theme browser, widgets, and applications. And, being that the laptop is geared for children, it features over two dozen parental control options and kid-friendly software that features Disney characters and icons. The parental controls allow you to set up internet controls and set who your children are allowed to correspond with.

The netbook has an 8.9" LCD screen with built-in wireless internet, and Windows XP operating system. The Disney ASUS is truly the first real laptop for kids.

To make it simple, the basic features of the Disney mini laptop for kids include:

  • 8.9" LCD screen
  • Easy use for kids aged 6-12
  • 160 GB storage with 10 GB online storage
  • Lightweight for portability
  • 5 hour battery life
  • Built-in wireless internet with a webcam, microphone, and stereo speakers
  • Choice of pink or blue mini laptop design

The Disney Netpal by ASUS features display rows of Mickey Mouse icons, but kids can customize their themes with one of 10 different themes that include- Cars, Club Penguin, classic Disney characters, Disney fairies, Disney princesses, vintage Mickey Mouse, Toy Story, and WALL-E. There are even themes for older kids, such as Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers.

The mini laptop includes Disney-developed applications such as Disney mix for music and media, and Disney Pix for picture customization and organization. Disney Pix features Disney Bobblehead software that allows kids to insert their face on top of bodies and download them into videos and postcards so that they can play crazy dance scenes. There's even a Radio Disney widget that streams real-time music. It even lets kids submit song requests.

It wouldn't be a kid's laptop if it didn't have pre-installed games. ASUS has included a driving game, numbers game, memory game, and a photo scrapbook.

The overall interface of the laptop is easy to use; remember it's tailored to kids. There's a visual interface with simple instructions. As soon as you take the mini laptop out of the box, the browser can be launched to kid-friendly websites.

The 2D gadget tray features bold icons that are easy to access. There are 15 easily accessible widgets that include a stopwatch, digital memo pad, and a calculator.

As for internet and email protection. The Disney laptop allows parents to create parental controls that allow parents to pre-select email correspondence options, browser settings, the websites that your kids are allowed to visit, and the programs they're allowed to use. The parent permissions can be scheduled on a calendar so that they can get automated means to grant access to the days and times that they want to choose, as well as monitor the time that the children spent on the on the browser.

The overall design of the laptop is rugged and durable. It has a spill-proof keyboard to protect against liquid spills, which is inevitable with younger children. The NetPal has a ShockShield data protection guards that protect against data loss.

The Disney ASUS netbook is a great laptop for children. They will love the bright colors and Disney themes, and it's easy for them to use. Plus, you get all the parental control that you'll need to keep them out of websites and programs they don't need to be. You can even control certain email correspondence.

Plus, being that the mini laptop supports Windows XP, you can install Microsoft Office for your child to use when he's a little older.
