Hubpages doesn't throw your personal information out there for everyone to see in the first place. YOU control what is seen by the public eye as far as your email, name, phone number, or anything else goes. You also make the choice to post or not post a picture of yourself for use as your "avatar" of sorts. Don't want people knowing your private information? Keep it private, meaning don't share it.
